- Close friend of the writer Erich Kästner.
- German actress and author of children's books. Began on stage in 1930 and appeared in ingénue roles in several feature films before her untimely death in a car crash on May 1 1939.
- Herti Kirchner made her stage debut at the Stadttheater in Salzwedel at the age of 17. When she went to Berlin two years later this was the beginning of a brief but intensive film career.
- On May 1st, 1939 at five o'clock in the early morning came Herti Kirchner's life to a sudden end when she was killed by a car accident. She died because of a cerebral hemorrhage. She didn't live to see first night of her last movie "Wer küsst Madeleine?" (1939).
- Besides her cinematical works she also appeared on stages and in cabarets where she was able to show her comical talent too.
