Although he was interested in the arts from an early age, Kisicki decided to become a priest. He completed eight years in seminary in Ohio and Florida, and was ordained in 1968. Eventually, Kisicki moved to Detroit, Michigan where he completed a Master of Fine Arts in acting from Wayne State University. During college and afterwards, Kisicki became known for his stage performances.

Devine died at his home in Cleveland, Ohio on November 27, 2017 at the age of 79. He was buried in Chesterland, Ohio on December 9.

Had two daughters with his now widowed wife Deborah Kaiser Kisicki - Kate Kisicki and Rebecca Kisicki (both born sometime before 1989).

Kisicki was born in Chicago, Illinois, but grew up in Ocala, Florida.
