Paula began her career as a singer with her father's band. Her first
recording took place in 1966 and the song, Perhonen (Butterfly)
continues to be extremely popular these days as well. Her career
skyrocketed in the 80s after few hits and today she's one of the most
sought-after singers in Finland and the younger generation especially
adores her and her music. She's always changing and is not afraid to
put herself into play - for instance at age 55 singing for 20,000
people dressed in a mini-skirt and using a whip. She's considered a gay
icon as well. She's been part of extremely successful shows, like
Leidit Lavalla (Ladies on Stage) with 3 other big names and the comedy
and music show Naiset Ensin (Ladies First) with singer/actress Merja
Larivaara. Paula's trademarks are her somewhat low voice and her strive
for perfection. Generally she's considered a "good guy" among her
audiences.
