Dunav Kuzmanich, born on July 4, 1935 in Santiago, Chile, was a director, screenwriter and scriptwriter based in Colombia. He was also a professor at several universities in Colombia where he developed his major productions.
Kuzmanich arrived in Colombia after the Salvador Allende coup d'etat in 1973. Duni was a TV producer, scriptwriter and director of comedy, notably for the Don Chinche (1982) TV series from 1982 to 1989. He also wrote screenplays, including Canaguaro (1981), A Man of Principle (1984), San Antoñito (1984), and La nave de los sueños (1996).
To preserve his memory and disseminate his working method, the Corporation Dunav Kuzmanich was founded in 2008 in Medellin, comprised of filmmakers, film and television professors, artists, actors, media and journalists.
He died on August 9, 2008 in Santa Fe de Antioquia, Colombia.
