- Suffers from fibromyalgia, a chronically painful illness. She is a major supporter and a public face for fibromyalgia awareness.
- Her father-in-law was the 18th Earl of Devon. When he died in 2015, her husband became the 19th Earl of Devon, and she became the Countess of Devon.

- Her husband's family, the Courtenays, took part in the Crusades, were emperors of Constantinople and fought under King Henry V at Agincourt. Powderham Castle on River Exe, her new home, was built in 1390. The Courtenays have resided there for over 600 years. Powderham houses a chair used by William of Orange for his first Parliament in 1689, following the "Glorious Revolution".
- Gave birth to a daughter at the age of 32, Joscelyn Skye Courtenay, weighing 7 lb, 14 oz. and measuring 21" [b. January 31, 2007].
