He acceded to stardom thanks to movies like Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), Jet Set (2000), Shooting Stars (2002) ('Shooting Stars'), The Code (2002) ('The Code') and He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (2002), but Samuel also showed his ability to play deeper roles in less commercial movies like Peau neuve (1999) ('New Dawn'), Le cousin (1997) ('The Cousin'), Captain Conan (1996) ('Captain Conan'), Venus Beauty Institute (1999) ('Venus Beauty Institute') and Fureur (2003) ('Rage').
