Primarily a stage actress (debut 1921 in Leipzig). Seen in a only a handful of pictures, she significantly scaled down her appearances after marrying the actor Gustav Knuth and settling in Zurich, Switzerland.
She continued her theater career after the war, for the film she only appeared once more in front of the camera - "Wenn wir alle Engel wären" (1956).
The actress Elisabeth Lennartz was well-known as a theater actress in the first place and was very successful on the stage.
