With leading man Kellan Lutz taking to New York Comic-Con over the weekend, Millennium has launched the first trailer for next spring’s action blockbuster, Hercules: The Legend Begins, a title which suggests that the studio might be eyeing a franchise with this next year.
Previously known simply as Hercules 3D, Renny Harlin’s action/fantasy blockbuster will be hitting cinemas a good few months ahead of Brett Ratner and Dwayne Johnson’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars, and it will be interesting to see how the two films compare come the end of summer.
Lutz takes the lead in Harlin’s movie, starring of course as the eponymous Hercules, son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene. He stars alongside Scott Adkins, Roxanne McKee, Gaia Weiss, Liam Garrigan, Liam McIntyre, Luke Newberry, and Rade Serbedzija.

It looks like production has officially started on Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 3, and the first photos from the set have leaked out to prove it. They feature Stallone coming into work for the day and a guy playing around with a big gun.
So far, the confirmed cast for the film includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Jason Statham, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Wesley Snipes, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell, Antonio Banderas, and Mel Gibson. This movie is being directed by Patrick Hughes, and I'm sure it will be just as ridiculous and action-packed as the first movie. I can't wait! Here's the synopsis:
In The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought.

Levelling up from slave to soldier, Spartacus: War Of The Damned star Liam McIntyre has just joined the cast of Renny Harlin's Hercules. By all accounts he'll be playing an important sidekick of Kellan Lutz's demigod. Harlin's is the Nu Image / Millennium version of the story, not to be confused with Brett Ratner's Paramount / MGM take that's also on its way to production, starring Dwayne Johnson ("I'm Hercules." "I'm Hercules."). Harlin has previously said that his is a more historically grounded story, as opposed to Ratner's comic book shenanigans.McIntyre, Harlin says, is playing "military commander Soltiris, Hercules' best friend. Their relationship begins antagonistic but develops into a close bond forged in battle. Liam is infinitely entertaining to watch. We're lucky to have him."Les Welden and Danny Lerner are producing, with Avi Lerner among the executive producers. The screenplay is by Steve Giulio and Sean Hood...

Fine performances enliven a moving drama about a group of classical musicians whose uneasy harmony is put at risk by illness
Musical groups, coming together, working harmoniously, splitting up, reuniting, provide one of the great metaphors for human activity. In the cinema we encounter them in such different forms as the real-life bandleaders Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey feuding and going their different ways in The Fabulous Dorseys; Bing Crosby's inner-city priest reforming delinquents as a choir in Going My Way; Fellini's allegorical Orchestra Rehearsal presenting Italy as a musical rabble that can only function when submitting to a firm conductor; or Dustin Hoffman's recent Quartet, which sees elderly singers burying old differences to recreate their celebrated quartet from Rigoletto.
A Late Quartet, written and directed by the American documentarian Yaron Silberman, is a major contribution to this continuing cycle. A subtle, intelligent picture with a suitably resonant title,...

When terrorists take down the White House (code name “Olympus”), a disgraced Secret Service agent attempts to rescue the president of the United States in Olympus Has Fallen, an electrifying and inspired action thriller from acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day).
A small group of heavily armed, meticulously trained extremists launch a daring daylight ambush on the White House, overrunning the building and taking President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) and his staff hostage inside an impenetrable underground presidential bunker. As a pitched battle rages on the White House lawn, former presidential security officer Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) joins the fray, and finds his way into the besieged building to do the job he has trained for all his life: to protect the president – at all costs.
Banning uses his extensive training and detailed knowledge of the presidential residence to become the eyes and ears of Acting President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) and his key advisors.

Jason Momoa was only six years old when the original Conan the Barbarian debuted starring a newcomer named Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now, the Hawaiian born actor is headlining his own take on the classic character with Conan the Barbarian 3D -- debuting in theaters August 19.
The key to any reboot of a franchise, especially one known for launching the career of the larger-than-life Schwarzenegger, was finding the right Conan. The actor had to not only look the part, but also make audiences forget there ever was another actor wielding the title character’s sword. “When we first met Jason, we saw everything that we hoped Conan would be. He has the imposing physicality -- the confidence,” remembered producer Les Weldon. “There's a sense of unbridled energy to him that’s essential for the character.”
Weldon’s co-producer Danny Lerner concurred. “I can’t imagine a single actor that I have worked...

Stand aside summer blockbusters and make way for Conan! Marcus Nispel, together with Millenium Films producers Les Weldon and Danny Lerner have reawakened a giant in the sword and sorcery fantasy genre by bringing the ultimate warrior and fictional archetype of unbridled masculinity into the 21st century. But even with a staggering $80 million budget behind it this barbarian has to cut quite a figure to escape John Milius’ original Conan shadow and truth be told as I waited for the bloodbath to begin my expectations were not high…
From the start the film-makers were looking to retell the Conan mythology in a way that incorporated the story and hero’s evolution since Robert E. Howard first introduced us to him in 1932 and the result is a surprisingly enjoyable romp through a beautifully realized Hyboria! Now if you don’t have a sense of humour or the stomach for outrageous violence...

We already had a fair idea of the plot of Marcus Nispel's Conan The Barbarian, but now thanks to Lionsgate we have a more detailed picture of what to expect. Bleeding Cool have posted the highlights from the production notes which go into the plot and feature the cast, director and producers discussing their characters, the tone/style of the movie and their main influences etc.. A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil. While no Conan feature can ignore John Milius’ 1982 original, Nispel and producers Danny Lerner and Les Weldon of Millennium Films see that film as only a small part of a much larger Conan universe...
