Romantic drama Virgin River, based on the popular book series by Robyn Carr, has grown into one of Netflix’s biggest hits since it launched on the streamer in 2019.

Running for five seasons thus far, the plot follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected.

Virgin River premiered in December 2019. Virgin River’s upcoming fifth season will debut on Netflix Sept. 7 with a 10-episode run. The last two hours of Season 5’s 12-episode order will drop Nov. 30 as holiday episodes.

On Wednesday, Netflix's first formal Upfronts presentation brought some exciting news for fans of the streaming service's most beloved shows.

Ginny & Georgia, which has been in limbo since January, has secured a pickup for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through what will likely be the fourth -- and final -- season.

In an exclusive post-mortem interview in January, then-showrunner Debra J. Fisher teased that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had mapped out a four-season run for the show.

The renewal announcement's delay is shocking, especially considering the show has been a strong performer for Netflix.

However, the streaming service confirmed that Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class) will take over as showrunner from Fisher.

There is no reason for the switcheroo, but fans will be happy knowing the show is returning.

Fans were shocked earlier this year when Virgin River Season 4 wrapped up with several cliffhangers.

Thankfully, the cast is hard at work on the forthcoming fifth season, which will feature the 50th episode.

Martin Henderson, who plays Jack on the soapy drama, took to Instagram earlier this month to celebrate.

With Virgin River Season 4 recently wrapped, there have been questions about whether the show will end with its fifth season.

Netflix tends to end shows before they get to a fifth season, unless they are global hits.

Thankfully, Jinny Howe, the Netflix drama head sees "longevity and growth" ahead, meaning that there's a good chance the show will continue for a sixth season.

However, Howe wants the show to continue "as long as the audience asks for it and shows up."

You wouldn't believe anything bad ever happened in Virgin River, but each season has gotten progressively darker and more dramatic.

Netflix dropped the first trailer for Virgin River Season 4 on Friday.

The beloved series returns July 20 for its biggest season yet.

We're getting 12 new episodes, and the official trailer gives us plenty of teases about what to expect.

Unfortunately, things aren't looking up for any of the characters.

Exclusive: Serinda Swan is set to play a young Elizabeth Taylor in Black Label Media’s war movie Devotion, which also stars Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell and Christina Jackson. Joe Jonas and Thomas Sadoski were also recently set to join the cast. Sleight director J.D. Dillard will direct.

The aerial epic will chart the true story of U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner, two young men from different worlds. Netflix released the official trailer for the romantic drama’s long-awaited second season on Thursday, and it picks up some time after Mel's abrupt departure.

The two-minute trailer picks up with Alexandra Breckenridge’s Mel Monroe, who returns to the small titular northern California town where she runs into her Season 1 love interest, Jack (Martin Henderson), who is expecting a child with Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley).

"Hi Jack," Mel says in the trailer, when she comes face to face with Jack for the first time.

"I think I'm going to need a little more than, 'Hi Jack,'" says Jack effortlessly, and exits dramatically casting her aside.

The network has ordered up a third season of Coroner and a fourth season of Burden of Truth.

Both series were previously renewed in Canada.

[Season 3] returns with coroner Jenny Cooper moving past her trauma and embracing her whole self. In the process of healing, she and live-in boyfriend Liam are now separated, while Detective Donovan McAvoy faces his mortality in a new way.

The CW has acquired additional seasons of Canadian drama series Coroner and Burden of Truth, along with a three-episode Bulletproof special event. Coroner and Burden of Truth were previously renewed in Canada for their third and fourth seasons, respectively, and are currently in production on the new seasons. The Bulletproof three-episode special event, labeled by producers as the series’ third season, was filmed earlier this year and will air in the UK in 2021. The CW premiere dates will be announced at a later time.

Long Live Jenny Cooper! Coroner Season 1 Episode 7 ended with Dr. Peterson's death, and for a minute there, it looked like Jenny would follow suit on Coroner Season 1 Episode 8.

We knew she wouldn't really die. She's the lead, and this isn't Game of Thrones. Still, we haven't seen our favorite coroner in danger like this before. Usually, it's strangers or, possibly, Ross. This time, Jenny came face-to-face with a serial killer, and she got stabbed in the gut for her trouble.

It was a minor wound, but we didn't know that at the time. And being trapped in a building with a serial killer while you bleed out is not a recipe for survival.

Jenny: Dr. Peterson? I mean that was a pretty fucked up thank you.

In one of the pandemic’s pop culture gifts, The CW is now airing CBC’s 2019 drama Coroner, which has already aired 2 seasons in Canada and has been renewed for a third. Serinda Swan plays Jenny Cooper, an ER doctor who, when we first meet her in the premiere, has lost her husband suddenly to a brain aneurysm that occurred at their teenage son’s swim meet. The CW has hired a Coroner from Canada to fill its coronavirus-impacted schedule, with Wednesday’s Stateside premiere of the imported drama.

The series stars Serinda Swan (Graceland, Marvel’s Inhumans) as Jenny Cooper, a former ER doc who takes a job as a coroner three months after her husband tragically died of an aneurysm — and after she saw a mysterious black dog wandering near his body. Jenny immediately begins to ruffle feathers in her new gig (“I like being a problem,” she tells Detective McAvoy, played by Dark Matter‘s Roger Cross) when she fires an arrogant pathologist after he ignores her orders.

It's already been said, but we're saying it again. Christmas in July is over!

That means we finally get a new romance on Hallmark Channel, and this one stars Torrance Coombs and Cindy Busby in super-duper casual attire. It's so fun!

The next Star Trek series drops on CBS All Access as Star Trek: Lower Decks takes off, and there is a very funny British import called Hitmen dropping on Peacock. Take a look!
