Production designer-turned-director Catherine Hardwicke, who hit the big time following the worldwide success of the first Twilight movie, may be reteaming with her Thirteen star Evan Rachel Wood in the erotic thriller Plush, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Set in the L.A. music world, Plush was written by Hardwicke and Artie Nelson. Both Hardwicke and Wood are officially attached to project, which will be hawked to prospective foreign buyers at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival's European Film Market beginning next week. Thirteen created quite a buzz when it came out in 2003, but Hardwicke's first — and to date only — major commercial hit has been Twilight, which turned Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson into movie stars. Starring Amanda Seyfried, last year's Red Riding Hood was a critical and box-office disappointment. Hardwicke is currently working on Knock-Out, the story of Swedish boxer Bosse Högberg and his relationship with cabaret singer Anita Lindblom.

Noomi Rapace is making room on her dance card for "Dead Man Down," a thriller directed by Niels Arden Oplev. The Danish director previously worked with Rapace on "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," but while the role of Lisbeth Salander was Rapace's ticket to stardom, Oplev bowed out of the second two movies in the series because of scheduling difficulties.
"Dead Man Down" will costar Colin Farrell as "the right-hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City who is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Rapace), a crime victim seeking retribution," according to The Wrap.
This sounds somewhat familiar to fans of the Stieg Larsson Millennium series who are used to Rapace playing a woman hell bent on revenge, although Salander had very different techniques to exact her own form of justice.
"Dead Man Down" will be Oplev's first English language feature film. Although he's been attached...

We reported back in late October that Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace would be acting in a boxing biopic, which is set to star her ex-husband, Ola Rapace. Now, THR says that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is taking the reigns of the movie, and shooting will begin in Sweden this autumn. The film tells the story of Bo “Bosse” Hogberg and his wife, the cabaret singer Anita Lindblom. The movie currently doesn’t have a title, but we know that it will follow his time as a boxer in the 60s and 70s, and the relationship that the two had as a couple.
Hardwicke directing is something that we didn’t expect, as she’s been handling American studio fare as of late. The film sounds like it’s a little more daring than her last two efforts, Twilight and Little Red Riding Hood, if only because...

[1] Good news, Thirteen-fans-who-are-also-Twilight-haters (what can I say, you are a very specific group): Catherine Hardwicke will be stepping away from supernatural teen romance and back toward her indie roots for a biopic of Swedish boxer Bo "Bosse" Hogberg. Ola has been in boxing training for four years to play Bo, who I'm told is considered a legend in his native country, while Noomi is set to play his cabaret singer wife Anita Lindblom. Read more after the jump. Hardwicke first mentioned the project a few weeks ago, when she said [3], "I have another project that looks like it’s going to go first. It’s in Sweden and Germany, and it’s really wild. I can’t quite talk about it, but we’ll probably...
