David Lippincott(1924-1984)
- Writer
David McCord Lippincott was born in New York on 17th June 1924. He
wrote music and lyrics from an early age. The first evidence of that is
a musical revue he wrote while at Hothckiss called "Little Boy Blue".
He then went to Yale, as did his father. After college he worked for
McCann Erickson as creative director, writing copy and creating
jingles. He also wrote some books, several of which you can still get.
Some of these were turned into movies. Titles include: Unholy Mourning,
Black Prism, E Pluribus Bang!, The Blood of October, The Home, Salt
Mine, The Voice of Armageddon (which is what the movie "Armageddon" is
based on), Savage Ransom, and Tremor Violet.
He died in the 80s.
