She was the obvious choice when Disney / Pixar looked for the Danish Ellen DeGeneres for dubbing the character Dory, and she is Dory's Danish voice in both "Finding Nemo" and "Finding Dory"
Among the TV-shows she hosted is "Star Joker" and three seasons of the popular talk show "Walk the Plank". She was head writer and host of the Danish adaptation of the UK satirical news programs "Have I got News for You" and "Room 101". She was also the creator, writer and star of her own sketch show "F.C. Lisby". "Walk the Plank" and "Have I Got News for You" became stand out hit shows, with solid top ratings, and Mette was voted "Most Popular TV-Host" 3 years running.
She was cast as the lead in the much-anticipated adaptation of bestselling novel "The Two Penny Dance", a role that earned her a nomination for a "Robert" (the Danish equivalent of an Academy Award) for "Best Actress in a Leading Role". She reprised her role in sequel "Juliane" and subsequent TV-series "The Two Penny Dance", which became the most watched TV drama of the year.
She married radio and TV-host Jesper Baehrenz and the couple moved to London in 2005. Mette took her Stand Up Comedy to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2006, 2008), and other international comedy festivals, including Amsterdam International Comedy Festival and the Big Joke Festival.
In London, Lisby and Baehrenz created and wrote "Stephen K. Amos' Gets next to you" (2008) (Show/Tour) and "Find the Funny" (2009) (Show, Tour & DVD), vehicles for award winning stand up comic Stephen K. Amos. Both shows had sell out tours of the UK and Australia.
Mette Lisby is also co-founder of VIVE Productions, an independent production company that started out specialized in non-scripted entertainment, comedy, game shows and reality formats. VIVE created the topical improv comedy show, "I'm NOT Making This Up", which was piloted for TV2 in Denmark and later taped at Comedy Central Stage, Los Angeles.
VIVE Productions created and produced the Web series "Made in Denmark", episodes running from 2013 - 2017.
