In the 10 years that have passed since the romantic comedy Wimbledon was released, Great Britain has finally crowned a British champion in Andy Murray.

At the time of its release, Tim Henman was the UK's biggest hope, but it had got to the point where we were so desperate to see a British champion, we had to make a movie about it just so we can pretend what it's actually like.

I say 'we', but the film was actually written by two Americans and a Canadian, and that does explain a lot when it comes to classic British stereotypes and fantastical depictions of London. However, it was directed by a Brit, Richard Loncraine.

The movie shows just how highly regarded and romanticised the Wimbledon Tennis Championships are around the world. It's hard to imagine a similar film titled French Open.

Kim Sears Cheers On Andy Murray At Wimbledon
Kim Sears returned to the stands Wednesday at Wimbledon to support her longtime boyfriend Andy Murray in the second round of the tournament.

Sears, 25, stood out from the crowd once again with her stylish summer fashion. For the sporting event, she donned a blue, gray and white swallow block dress from the Hobbs label. Sears completed her look with rose-colored Burberry wedge sandals and her cream Marylebone Aspinal tote.

Sears watched on as Murray, 27, soared to victory against Blaz Rola. In the match, which lasted under an hour and a half, he finished Rola 6-1, 6-1, 6-0.
