Tim Long has more than twenty-five years of screenwriting experience, during which he sold, optioned, and pitched feature film projects at the studio level. He has had screenplays in development with Academy Award ® winning and nominated producers.
In addition to writing the original screenplay for the feature film (Slaughter), released theatrically by Lionsgate, Mr. Long's other screenwriting credits include the feature film (Shanghai 1920), which was shot on location in China, and the original screenplay for the feature film (Undeclared War).
Mr. Long is a nationally recognized story consultant, named among the top six screenplay consultants in the country.
Tim Long also taught Screenwriting at the University level in a MFA film program that is ranked among the top 20 filmmaking programs in the world. As a Screenwriter in Residence at Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, he taught and oversaw the story development, screenwriting, and post-production editing of more than five-hundred narrative films, among which were seventeen national Student Academy Award ® winners, as well as two other films that qualified for actual Oscar ® consideration in the best short film category.
His writing students have gone on to successful careers in television, writing for such shows as; Mike & Molly, Jane by Design, Life As We Know It, Arrow, Mistresses, Yes Dear, Desperate Housewives, and Smallville.
Others have gone on to sell screenplays and direct feature films such as; 11:14, Little Black Book, El Gringo, The Myth Of The American Sleep Over, and Echelon Conspiracy.
