A leading player in comedy at London's West End and on Broadway from 1918, most at home in elegant garb as snotty lordlings, rejected suitors and dashing rogues in comedies and thrillers authored by the likes of Noel Coward, Rodney Ackland, Patrick Hamilton, J.B. Priestley and A.A. Milne.
