Stacey Martino is originally from Philadelphia. She has written, performed and produced plays, films and events focusing on creating a world that works for everyone. These works have included the tour of her play The Gift of Peace and the critically acclaimed, A Slow Crawl Home, a one woman exploration of homelessness. Stacey is a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio who has taught acting in Los Angeles for 11 years and holds workshops in Europe annually. Her students have garnered numerous awards and nominations for their work in theater, film and television.

As a team member of Stop Genocide Now she co-created Camp Darfur, an educational traveling refugee camp that serves as a museum dedicated to remembering all of the genocides of the twentieth century with a focus on stopping the current one in Darfur. Camp Darfur has traveled all over the country, including the United Nations. She traveled to the refugee camps on the Chad/Darfur border with Stopgenocidenow.org founder Gabriel Stauring as a part of i-Act 2, an interactive citizen reporting team that connects people on a grassroots level. This work led to her current endeavor, Refuge a solo show that explores the lives of the everyday people affected by genocide and those who have stood up on their behalf throughout history.
