Glen was born in Stirling, Scotland on the 16th of September 1930 and educated at Stirling High school and on leaving his first job was as a printer's apprentice while his stage debut was singing at the Little Theatre in Stirling when he was 16.' His first professional appearance was in 1948 at St Andrews Summer Show. He went to London in 1952 and got his big break in 1954 singing at Churchill's Club and the following year he was one of the regular cast in the B.B.C.'s television variety 'Jack Jackson Show'. Other television appearances were on such top shows as '6-5 Special', and the 'Black and White Minstrels', while he made appearances in the films 'Climb up the Wall', 'It's Magic' and 'Man With a Gun'. His hobbies included football, being a member of one of the show biz teams, tennis and golf.
