John Mastando

Mastando was born on October 4th in New York City and was the second
child of Benignia and Alexander Mastando. He was raised on Long
Island's Suffolk County, where his Father was an Electrical Technition
and his mother a self employed Electrologist. While growing up John had
intented to play professional Baseball for the New York Yankees,
however, he was noticed by a Casting Director while working as a
bartender, who was casting a film for Director 'Franco Zefirelli'. Although he did
not get the role that he had auditioned for - he left an impression
upon Zefirelli, whom later introduced him to his own agent at I.C.M. He
soon decided to persue acting full time and later moved to Los Angeles
and began studying acting with his friend Robert Forster. John was later cast
by 'Howard Fuer' and actor/director Tom Hanks in a small role in That Thing You Do! (1996).
