Military service in Europe during World War II with the Royal Canadian Artillery.

Canadian actor, formerly trained as a medical student. Moved to England after World War II and married Scottish actress Mary Lindsay. During the 1960's and 1970's, specialised in playing Americans in British films and on television. Had a recurring part in the popular soap, Coronation Street (1960). Also acted on stage at the London West End.

Graduated from Yale University with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.

He narrated the short film Wings to the Sun.

He has worked with actors who have played Jeff Tracy 3 times. These were in Aliens (1986), Alias Mr. Hackenbacker (1966) & Thunderbirds Are GO (1966).
