Quick Links Most Recent Billy The Kid Season 3 News Billy The Kid Season 3 Is Confirmed Billy The Kid Season 3 Cast Billy The Kid Season 3 Story Billy The Kid Season 3: Further News & Updates

Billy The Kid season 3 will continue the story of Tom Blyths infamous Wild West outlaw when the show returns to MGM+, although it has now been confirmed that season 3 will also be the last. Debuting in 2022, Billy the Kid stars Tom Blyth as Henry McCarty, the real-life outlaw much more commonly known as Billy the Kid. Through exciting action, and a small amount of revisionism, Billy the Kid fleshes out the life of the outlaw and tells a refreshingly modern western story.

The first two seasons have documented Billys early career joining the 7 Rivers Gang alongside Pat Garrett and the Lincoln County war that followed, as well as the emergence of the Santa Fe Ring. The sophomore...

Billy The Kid's Regulators Gang: 8 Members Explained
Image
Billy the Kid, Dick Brewer, and Charlie Bowdre were key members of The Regulators in the Lincoln County War, fighting against the Jesse Evans Gang. Billy the Kid felt indebted to John Tunstall, his mentor, and was a loyal supporter of his beliefs and business ventures. Other notable members of the Regulators included George Coe, Tom O'Folliard, Fred Waite, and John Middleton.

Several real-life members of The Regulators are depicted in the MGM series Billy the Kid. The Regulators were one of the opposing sides in the historic Lincoln County War that took place in Old Western New Mexico in 1878. The legendary outlaw Billy the Kid, also known as William H. Bonney and by his real name Henry McCarty, was one of the key members of the Lincoln County War as one of the most impactful members of The Regulators. As a hired enforcer of wealthy Englishman and land prospector John Tunstall,...

What Happened To Billy The Kid’s Father? True Story & Show Changes Explained
Image
Billy the Kid season 2 takes creative liberties with his legend, introducing a number of both real-life and fictional father figures and mentors. Patrick McCarty likely died when Billy was 7 or 8 years old, leaving Catherine to raise the boys alone, which heavily influenced Billy's life. The MGM series introduces fictional mentors for Billy, including Moss and John Tunstall, who played important roles in shaping his character and actions.

The MGM series Billy the Kid briefly touches on the ambiguous backstory of his father Patrick McCarty. William H. Bonney was born Henry McCarty to Irish immigrants before becoming immortalized as one of the most dangerous outlaws of the American Old West. Billy was orphaned at age 15 but he did spend a good part of his childhood with his father Patrick, particularly when they lived in New York City before his family headed West for Kansas during the post-Civil War 1860s. Throughout the course of his brief life,...

Barry Keoghan at an event for 81st Golden Globe Awards (2024)
Barry Keoghan has been set to play Billy the Kid in an upcoming biopic set to retell the notorious criminal’s story.

The new telling of his story will lean into Billy’s Irish ancestry and complicated childhood.

Born in New York as Henry McCarty, he was orphaned at the age of 15 when his mother died and his stepfather abandoned him. His first arrest for robbery came a year later, and by the time he was 18, he was wanted for murder after an altercation in Arizona. His notoriety escalated, and he was 21 when Sheriff Pat Garrett shot him to death.

Bart Layton, who directed Barry Keoghan in American Animals, is set to helm the Billy the Kid movie, which Element Pictures and Raw will produce with Film4. “We’ve seen many versions of Billy the Kid on screen before,” Keoghan said in a statement to Deadline. “My interest was in trying to tell a version that breaks from the facade of that cool, calm, and collected gunslinger Billy the Kid that we’re all used to seeing. I wanted to humanize him in a way.” Element Pictures producer Ed Guiney added, “This isn’t just a passion project for Barry. This approach is something new, and it’s a version of the tale we hope the world will want to see.

‘I Am Prouder of This Show Than Anything I Have Ever Done’: ‘Vikings’ Creator Michael Hirst Talks ‘Billy the Kid’
Image
“Vikings” creator Michael Hirst takes on his childhood hero in “Billy the Kid.” Starring Tom Blyth as the legendary gunslinger, born Henry McCarty, the eight-episode series – co-produced by Epix Studios and MGM International Television Productions, in association with Viaplay – is currently screening at French TV festival Series Mania ahead of its April 24 premiere.

“It’s probably true that you shouldn’t meet your heroes; I have met a couple of mine and it didn’t go particularly well. But what I want more than anything else is for people to love this Billy,” Hirst tells Variety in Lille.

“Michael [Wright, president of Epix] allowed me to tell a story I wanted to tell, which doesn’t happen very often. This show is saying to people: ‘You think you know Billy the Kid because you have heard his name.’ You think he is a bit of a rough guy, a gunman and a killer.

‘Old Henry’ Review: Tim Blake Nelson in His Ultimate Noble-Hick Performance
Image
Tim Blake Nelson is a highly skilled and versatile actor (not to mention a terrific director), but for years now there has been one character he owns: the yokel, the snaggletoothed redneck runt, the leering hillbilly bumpkin who never met a big vocabulary word he didn’t like to chew on like tobacco. He has done variations on this role in films from “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” to “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” and the thing about it is that each time Nelson goes Full Hick, you don’t feel like he’s acting; you feel like he just is. In truth, he’s acting up a storm, never more so than in “Old Henry,” in which he gives what I can only call the “Citizen Kane” of Tim Blake Nelson hayseed varmint performances.

Here’s what elevates this one. Most of the backwoods turns on Nelson’s resume have been unabashedly comic.

‘Stay Cool’ Trailer – Mark Polish Hangs with Hilary Duff, Samwise Gamgee, and Sawyer Ford in High School Reunion Comedy
Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase, Jon Cryer, Hilary Duff, Josh Holloway, and Mark Polish in Stay Cool (2009)
[1] Back in 2009, the Polish Brothers, Mark and Michael, released two films on the festival circuit: The Smell of Success premiered at Sundance, while Stay Cool opened at Tribeca. Now, two years later, both films are finally getting released in theaters. The Smell of Success just got a very limited opening [2] this month, and Stay Cool will be hitting theaters September 16. A new trailer's just been released for the latter, and... well, I can see why no one was in a hurry to rush this out. Stay Cool follows a successful writer named Henry McCarthy (Mark Polish) who returns to his high school as a commencement speaker at the request of Principal Marshall (Chevy Chase). Once Henry arrives, Marshall encourages him to "connect" with the graduating class, which apparently means sitting in on classes and passing notes with students. (I don't know about you, but I have never had a commencement speaker that did this.

Was Hilary Duff Too Cool for High School?
Hilary Duff. From PatrickMcMullan.com. The painful acne. The cracking voice. And worst of all, the unrequited love from the girl who is two times as tall as you and whose class schedule you’ve memorized. While most people don’t like to revisit these painful high-school memories, they were celebrated last night in New York City as party-goers fêted the much hyped Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Stay Cool. In the film, Henry McCarthy (Mark Polish), an accomplished writer, returns to his high school to give a commencement speech two decades after he graduated. McCarthy is still haunted by his love for former classmate Scarlet Smith (Winona Ryder), but to complicate matters, the sexy Shasta O’Neil (Hilary Duff), a high-school senior, attempts to woo McCarthy to her senior prom. The film is written by Mark Polish and directed by his brother Michael Polish, and the eclectic cast also includes Chevy Chase,...
