- British classical stage actor, best remembered for his intense, highly flamboyant portrayal of "Mercutio" in Franco Zeffirelli's film version of Romeo and Juliet (1968). He was nominated for a BAFTA for this supporting role.

Beacham and McEnery met up again seven years later at the Nottingham Playhouse, their co-starring roles as lovers in Harold Pinter's ''The Homecoming'' soon spilling over into real life.
