“The Second Best Hospital in The Galaxy” Trailer Out Now

The doctors are in! Prime Video has released the official trailer for the upcoming adult animated series “The Second Best Hospital in The Galaxy,” coming to the platform late next month.

The new series, produced by Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne, and Danielle Renfrew Behrens’ Animal Pictures, follows Dr. Sleech (voiced by Stephanie Hsu) and Dr. Klak (Keke Palmer), two alien best friends-slash-intergalactically renowned surgeons in the business of rare illnesses, including anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs.

“Doctor Who” star Whittaker, Lawrance (“The Silent Twins”) and Ramsey (“The Last of Us”) star as three inmates in a women’s prison in the U.K. in a follow-up to the Sean Bean series of the same name.

Jimmy McGovern returns to pen the second anthology-style season of the show with some actors from the series’ first outing – including Siobhan Finneran as prison chaplain Marie-Louise – reprising their roles. Helen Black co-writes while Andrea Harkin directs.

BritBox also co-produced Season 1 of the heartwrenching show, which starred Sean Bean and Stephen Graham and won two BAFTAs in 2022.

The Paradise has begun shooting its second series.

Ben Daniels (House of Cards, Law & Order: UK) will join the BBC One period drama as Tom Weston, an enigmatic former soldier who is now married to Katherine (Elaine Cassidy).

"Tom's a fascinating animal and will certainly be ruffling a few feathers (and silks!) along the way," said Daniels. "I'm really looking forward to the next few months of filming."

Tracy-Ann Oberman has signed up for a role in the second series of ITV1's medical drama Monroe. The show, which stars James Nesbitt and Sarah Parish, was renewed by the broadcaster last July. Oberman has now signed up to play the new nurse specialist Lizzie Clapham, who looks after the patients' emotional care. Drop the Dead Donkey star Neil Pearson has also joined the cast as head of Clinical Services and Monroe's manager Alistair Gillespie, while Five Daughters actress Lisa Millet will play "acerbic" nurse Jill McHeath. Jo Joyner is to star in new comedy drama series 'Candy Cabs' about a female taxi company. The 'EastEnders' actress - who is best known for her role as cheated wife Tanya Branning in the BBC One soap - is to head up the upcoming three-part series at the network about a group of female cab drivers. Sarah Lancashire and Ian Hart have signed up for BBC One's new drama Five Daughters, it has been announced. The three-part serial, written by Stephen Butchard, follows the Ipswich murders and subsequent police investigation in 2006. Steve Coogan is to play a gambling addict in a new comedy drama from The Royle Family's Craig Cash.

The three-part series - called Sunshine - will centre on Coogan's character Bing and his family. Cash and writing partner Phil Mealey have written the show and will appear in it along with Bernard Hill (Boys From The Black Stuff) and Lisa Millett (Blackpool).
