- In 2001, Karen supplied the voice of Princess Kida for the Cantonese dub of Walt Disney's "Atlantis: The Lost Empire". She acted in the 2004 Hollywood production "Around the World in 80 Days" with Jackie Chan (credited as Karen Joy Morris, her birth name) and in the Thai horror movie "The Coffin" in 2008. In 2013, she played the female lead role in Keanu Reeves' directorial debut "Man of Tai Chi". In 2014, she participated in the successful project "The Hypnotist".In 2016, the film A Chinese Odyssey Part Three, in which she starred, was released. On November 1, 2024, the film Cesium Fallout, in which she played the lead role as Cecilia, will premiere. In the film, she portrays the Acting Chief Executive of Hong Kong and the current Financial Secretary.
- Karen gave her film debut in 1993 with a cameo role in the movie "The Tigers - The Legend of Canton". In 1995, her first starring role was together with Stephen Chow in "A Chinese Odyssey". In the same year, she acted in Wong Kar Wai's movie "Fallen Angels", for which she received the award for Best Supporting Actress at the Hong Kong Film Award and the Golden Bauhinia Awards. She starred in box office hits like "God of Cookery" (1996), "The King of Comedy" (1999), "Shaolin Soccer" (2001) and "Wait 'til You're Older" (2005) among others.
- The Guinness World Record for the highest altitude mass-attended music concert in China, Lhasa 3,646.308 m (11,962.95 ft.) was achieved by Karen on 12 October 2019.
- Karen took the lead in the Broadway musical rent on its Asian tour and has 15 million followers on her Sina Weibo account.
- Since 2015, she focused more on her music career, conducting a number of stadium tours with performances in North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.
