Attack The Block Director Joe Cornish To Tackle Snow Crash
Ever since Attack The Block became an indie sensation last year, director Joe Cornish has been mentioned in connection with a number of high profile projects. Before John Moore was hired as the director of A Good Day To Die Hard there were rumors that Fox was considering having Cornish direct, and the British filmmaker was also one of the names up to direct The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. But with those projects off the table, what will Joe Cornish make as his next project? Apparently that decision was made today. Deadline reports that the director has been hired to both adapt and direct a feature film version of Snow Crash, based on the novel by Neal Stephenson. The title is set in a future where the world isn't divided by governments and countries, but rather "corporate-franchise city-states, and private enterprise" (the rest belongs to the mafia). The story follows...

Jai Courtney to Play John McClane’s Son in A Good Day To Die Hard
It appears that the final piece of the puzzle has fallen into place for the (somewhat) highly anticipated fifth Die Hard movie. After a long and exhaustive search, 20th Century Fox have decided upon the perfect candidate to play John McClane Jr. in the next film (officially titled A Good Day To Die Hard). Their choice: Australian actor Jai Courtney, best known for playing Varro on the Starz original series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. I've never seen the show myself, but judging by the photos he looks to be sufficiently chiseled for what we can only assume is a very manly role. The question is, will he have the necessary chemistry with Bruce Willis? I suppose we'll find out soon enough. According to Deadline, Courtney beat out Liam Hemsworth, star of The Hunger Games and younger brother of Chris Hemsworth, for the coveted role. Courtney is still something of an unknown,...

John McClane Finds a Son For ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’
The decision’s been made. After testing just about every young adult male actor for the fifth Die Hard film, 20th Century Fox has made a decision. Deadline reports that Spartacus: Vengeance star Jai Courtney has landed the role of John McClane’s son in A Good Day To Die Hard.

Bruce Willis will be returning of course, but unfortunately under the directing “talents” of John Moore, who last gave us the sloppy action effort Max Payne. It is reported that Courtney beat down his toughest competitor, The Hunger Games and Expendables 2 star Liam Hemsworth. I haven’t witnessed any of Courtney’s work, but he’ll be seen exactly five days before this Die Hard comes out, with Tom Cruise in the thriller One Shot. He’ll then star alongside Aaron Eckhart in I, Frankenstein.

Details aren’t extensive for this fifth entry, but it see McClane headed to...

A Good Day To Die Hard John McClane Jr Shortlist Includes Liam Hemsworth
Plot details recently revealed that the action movie icon's son would be prominently featured in the hit franchise's fifth entry. Along with The Hunger Games actor, Aaron Paul, James Badge Dale, and D.J. Cotrona are reportedly up for the role. Even though it began over a decade ago, the Die Hard franchise still has legs with its last installment in 2007, Live Free or Die Hard, grossing $384 million world wide. Bruce Willis will return to the role that rocketed him to action movie stardom and director John Moore (Max Payne, The Omen, Flight of the Phoenix and Behind Enemy Lines) has been chosen to helm the fifth installment. Not much has been revealed about the new movie's script but it has been stated that John McClane may be spending time in Russia. Tom Rothman, co-chairman and Chief...
