- O'Malley's mother, Hilda Moriarty, is the subject of Patrick Kavanagh's famous Irish love song On Raglan Road.
- In the 1970's O'Malley was a founder member of London's first community theatre - Common Stock - which brought theatre to the poor of London's East End . Dame Harriet Walter was also a founder member.
- Produced the Irish version of The Rocky Horror Show - described by writer Richard O' Brien as 'sexiest version of my show ever produced'.
- Studied at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
- In 2015 it was announced that Daragh O'Malley would portray Marlon Brando in the play "Brando - Memoirs of a Giant ".
- O'Malley was the voice of the crooked lawyer Nick Virago in the Lucas multi million seller Grim Fandango.
