Saying that Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) doesn't like his former sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove) is an understatement. Ever since Kreese joined "Cobra Kai" in the season 1 finale, "Mercy," he's acted as Johnny's personal bogeyman and aspiring corruptor -- a fitting role for the old man, whose training and torment ended up affecting Johnny's life so adversely. Beyond the action, the horrendously poorly portrayed rules of karate, and the memorable quotes and characters, the "Karate Kid" franchise has always had time for romance. From the very start, this franchise has been built on unlikely romances, whether it's Ralph Macchio's scrawny new kid Daniel Larusso going after rich, popular girl Ali Mills (Elisabeth Shue) in the first film or immediately leaving Ali for a summer romance during a trip to Japan with Kumiko in "The Karate Kid Part II."

Likewise, the legacy sequel TV series "Cobra Kai" has romance built into its DNA. The show —— which is the closest to a full-on live-action sports anime and is set in a world of heightened stakes where everything revolves around karate — has explored romances for both the many new kids on the block and their senseis — with Johnny Lawrence's arc from jerk to a legit good partner being a highlight of the series.

For a show that has spent years establishing the martial arts prowess of its central cast, "Cobra Kai" season 6 part 2 is not kind to a number of established karate masters. Most younger characters spend their time in complex and often embarrassing Sekai Taikai tag battles that require heavy teamwork, which locks champion fighters like Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) out of chances to shine individually.

The adults don't have it any easier. When do the final episodes of Cobra Kai come out?

As noted, the show sadly is not getting a seventh season, with the producers believing that six seasons is enough for the story. When the sixth season was renewed back in January 2023, Netflix announced it would be the final season. The 15-episode season was split into three parts, and we can expect the conclusion soon in 2025.

For those wondering, the final five episodes will drop on Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. They're expected to bring the story to a major close, with producer Hayden Schlossberg offering a nice comparison to a famous movie trilogy in speaking with Entertainment Weekly.

Cobra Kai VI, the lowest-rated season of The Karate Kid spin-off series, has only premiered a third of its final season so far, leaving ten of the fifteen chapters to debut. The second batch of episodes continues where the first left off, setting up a showdown at the Sekai Taikai tournament between Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai, along with some other competition. Once again, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are a charismatic pairing, whether on opposite sides or the same one. However, the middle section of Cobra Kai’s final season still feels like it...

The last season of Netflix’s popular martial arts show Cobra Kai will start on November 15. The actor Yuji Okumoto promises that his character Chozen will have an interesting story. In upcoming shows, the character must decide how to balance his personal goals with his dedication to Miyagi-Do martial arts.

Okumoto said in a private talk that Chozen is still looking for happiness in his personal life while also taking care of his duties. Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait was worth it, because the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes) that has been split up to make it a three part event. The first batch of episodes dropped back in July, and the second batch of episodes are set to begin streaming on November 15th. Johnny Lawrence, Daniel Larusso and their students are headed overseas to compete in the international Sekai Taikai tournament in a new trailer for “Cobra Kai” Season 6 Part 2, which will drop on Netflix on Nov. 15.

The trailer shows the group landing in Barcelona, Spain and the group entering the doors of the karate competition, where they’re set to face off against 15 other teams. In addition to new rivals, Miyagi-Do will also deal with the fallout of Tory Nichols (Peyton List) defecting to Cobra Kai, while also fighting to stay united as internal rivalries bubble to the surface.

“We’ve heard all this garbage going around about loyalty. Almost all of us are trained somewhere else at some point,” Lawrence says in the teaser. “What matters is where our asses are now. We’re Miyagi-Do and we’re not losing. So wipe the smirks off their ugly faces.”

Do we really need a three-part final season of “Cobra Kai”? Netflix thinks so.

Trailers-wise, we are officially two-thirds of the way through the sixth and final season of the “Karate Kid” sequel series, which started way back in 2018 as a YouTube Premium show. Remember those days?

Since then, “Cobra Kai” has settled in nicely at Netflix. It’s a reliable series, though not an all-timer.

Now, in the Season 6-b trailer released on Wednesday, the Miyagi-do and Cobra Kai dojos head to Barcelona for the Sekai Taikai tournament. From Valley champs to world champs? Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) doubts it.

Netflix just released the first batch of photos from Cobra Kai season six part two. The new photos show Miyagi-Do out of the Valley and onto a bigger stage at the Sekai Taikai. The photos also provide our first look at Sensei Wolf, played by Lewis Tan (Deadpool v. Wolverine).

“We left off with the big surprise that Tory has joined Cobra Kai, so we’re in the aftermath of that with everyone reacting to what just happened, while also trying to get their footing –– as the new kids on the block –– of this giant international tournament that has been going on for decades. The specter of Mr. Miyagi has always loomed large over "Cobra Kai." The TV sequel to the "Karate Kid" movies takes place 40 years after the events of the 1984 original, focusing on Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) teaching a new generation of kids about karate.

From the beginning, the show followed the original film's themes of the bond between teachers and students and the influence the former hold over the latter. We see this in both the trauma Johnny tries to overcome from his years under Kreese, but also how much Daniel has put Mr. Miyagi up on a pedestal. Really, every aspect of Daniel's life, from his personality to his values, are all shaped by Miyagi's teachings. His car dealership's logo is a bonsai tree and his dojo is at Miyagi's old house, which Daniel inherited from his sensei.

The Karate Kid franchise which began in 1984, starred Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso. He played a young Italian American teenager who learns to defend himself against school bully Johnny Lawrence played by William Zabka, by learning martial arts from eccentric war veteran Mr Miyagi. Following two more films with the two actors, the franchise further expanded with Hillary Swank and later, with Jaden Smith playing the lead protagonist.

The film series gave rise to a 2018 comedy television series called Cobrai Kai which saw Macchio and Zabka reprising their famous roles more than 3 decades later in a continuation of their rivalry-turned-friendship. Apart from feeling a sense of nostalgia on portraying these beloved characters again, Zabka was extremely excited to co-star with 3 alums of the original films with whom he hadn’t had the opportunity to star with in the earlier installments.

Cobra Kai Season 6 trailer has revealed that Pat Morita’s Mr. Miyagi had buried some secrets before his death. Ralph Macchio’s Daniel Larusso will uncover these secrets of his seemingly perfect master, which causes him some emotional conflict. As Daniel and Johnny prepare their students for the Sekai Taikai, the new plot point will surely present a challenge to the original Karate Kid hero.

In fact, the new turn of events in the series may have been a result of Macchio constantly asking the writers to give him something more to work with than the rivalry with Johnny Lawrence. He wanted the writers to give him a new challenge that throws him off balance and gives an intriguing element to the final season of the show.

Enter the dojo for one final season. Netflix has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated final season of “Cobra Kai.”

“The Karate Kid” sequel spinoff series, which stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their franchise-leading roles, will return for its sixth and final season on Thursday, July 18, with the first batch of episodes in a super-sized season.

In Season 6, per the official description, the Cobra Kai senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate after they are eliminated from the Valley.

The “Karate Kid” story just won’t stay down on the mat.

On Monday, Netflix released the trailer for the first part (of three!) of the final season of “Karate Kid” sequel series “Cobra Kai.” There’s kicking and punching and board-breaking (and one 4×4 karate-chopped in half) and all of that, but the preview’s cliffhanger teases the uncovering of Mr. Miyagi’s buried secrets. And we do mean buried — they’re in a clearly constructed crawl space under the floor in what appears to be Daniel-san’s (Ralph Macchio) dojo. There’s even a giant non-flush pull ring on top. We guess the Larusso’s never vacuumed.

Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, the streaming giant has announced that the final season of the popular series will consist of 15 episodes, with the season to be split into three five-episode blocks. The first five episodes will premiere on July 18, while the second batch of five will premiere on Nov. 28. The final five episodes of the series will premiere in 2025 with an exact date to be announced at a later date.
