- Currently resides in Seattle, Washington, where he and his family manage Kona Kitchen, a Hawaiian-themed restaurant. (April 2004)
- Started his martial arts training at the age of 13, in Chito-Ryu Karate. Later he also trained in Shotokan, Kajukenbo and Judo. After that he practiced Yau Kung Moon, a southern style Gung Fu. He had a brown belt in Karate during the shooting of Karate Kid 2.
- Best known for his role as Chozen Toguchi, the main villain of John G. Avildsen's sequel The Karate Kid Part II (1986).
- Attended and graduated from Hollywood High School, where he played baseball and basketball.
- Attended, and graduated from, California State University @ Fullerton -- where he was introduced to acting (and where the All-Valley Tournament scenes from the original "Karate Kid" were filmed).
- He and his family own a Hawaiian food restaurant in the Seattle area since the early 2000's.
- Has three daughters with his wife, Angela: Mari (age: 17), Keilee (age: 13) and Emi (age: 12), as of April 2020.
- He made guest appearances on both Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993) and Superman: The Animated Series (1996).
