- Eric Ollivier was born on November 19, 1927 in Brest, Finistère, France. He was a writer, known for On n'enterre pas le dimanche (1960), Wise Guys (1961) and Églantine (1972). He died in 2015 in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
- Friend of Roger Nimier, he wrote many books including his memoirs "Avant de partir" in 2013.
- He was the secretary of François Mauriac from 1946-48. After his military service, Mauriac facilitated his entry as a journalist for the "Figaro" where he had the pen name of Éric Ollivier. He stopped working for the Figaro in 1960 because of the Algerian war and wrote for the "Figaro littéraire" in the 1980s.
