- His 1986 hit music video for "Addicted to Love" was memorable for its expressionless, slick-haired, identical-looking models who played as his back up band. A similar look was carried on through his videos for "Simply Irresistible" and "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On". But the original concept was later parodied in several other music videos, including Sam Kinison's "Wild Thing", Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" where little girls were shown playing the part, 'Weird Al' Yankovic's "UHF" where the women additionally sported mustaches and glasses, and Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" which used male models. The models featured in Palmer's original "Addicted to Love" music video were, Patty Kelly (guitar), Julie Pankhurst (keyboard), Mak Gilchrist (bass guitar), Julia Bolino (guitar), and Kathy Davies (drums).
- Palmer won two Grammy Awards - 1986 Best Male Rock Vocalist ("Addicted To Love") & 1988 Best Male Rock Vocalist ("Simply Irresistible") - He also won MTV's Best Male Video Award for 1986 ("Addicted To Love") and was winner of the Rolling Stone Magazine's 1990 Readers Poll for the category "Best Dressed Rock Star".
