She won the 2008 Best Lead Actress Ovation Award for Kim in Miss Saigon. ( Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities).

While living in Washington state and having never worked professionally as an actress, Paz made an impromptu decision to audition in an open call for a Canadian production of the musical Miss Saigon. Upon being cast in the chorus of the First National Tour production, she quickly moved up to the lead role of Kim. She went on to originate the role in the celebrated Los Angeles run of the show.

While originating the role of Kim in Miss Saigon in the 1st U.S National Tour, she received the Carbonell Award(South Florida Critics Circle) for best actress. She was also a Helen Hayes best actress nominee(Washington D.C).
