Les was born in Newport News, Virginia. He attended Campbell University graduating in 1969 with a BS in Geology. He worked in numerous industries until he found his calling in motion pictures. He worked in production on many films for over twenty years, retiring in 1992 to write the great American novel. His first venture was an autobiography titled The Devil, Me and Jerry Lee which he penned for Linda Gail Lewis, sister to the notorious rocker Jerry Lee Lewis. The book was successful with a play based on it which ran in London's fabled West End. He then went on to write over a dozen novels. Some titles are Widow Walk, Pride and Privilege, Evening, Disintegration, The Sea Les Traveled, The SeaQuel Les Traveled, Treasure, 1600 Trump Avenue and the just published The Bridges at Union Point. Many of his tales feature the coast of North Carolina and his passion for sailing. All of his titles are available on Amazon. The autobiography, Sea of Greed which he co-wrote with Judge Douglas McCullough is currently in development as a feature film by Sprockefeller Pictures. He is married to Susanne Harrison Pendleton and they live in coastal New Bern, North Carolina. Every moment of their spare time is spent on their sailboat, Two Peas.
