Anna Pernicci is a writer and actress. She's a Goldsmiths University alumna with an MA in Drama and Film Studies. She's a Royal Television Society Award winner, a BBC Dennis Potter Screenwriter Award nominee and a Susan Smith Blackburn Prize nominee.

Her writing career began at the Royal Court Theatre and she was featured on LWT's Theatreland as one of Britain's most promising writers.

Anna went on to win a playwright accolade for her first play Sundae, which was staged at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End starring Maggie Steed. After the success of Sundae, Anna was approached by Soho Theatre Company and awarded with seed money bursary to write her second play The Green Line.

A series of Anna's monologues were performed at the Royal Albert Hall and at the Royal Court Theatre.

She went on to win a screenwriting/directing scholarship in Los Angeles where she studied with Emmy Award winning screenwriter Judy Burns and became John Iacovelli's intern on Babylon 5. Anna was selected by Universal to work on a new venture and was then invited to work for the BBC.

Anna's first feature length screenplay Spinning Candyfloss won much acclaim and media interest with Kenneth Branagh kindly donating to the completion budget.

The film was chosen to open the Raindance Film Festival and was screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival and BAFTA.

Total Film Magazine says, "Pernicci's weapon is her personality, a refreshing blend of bluntness and charm."

Elliot Grove of Raindance Film Festival says, "Pernicci's talent just bursts from the screen."
