Siegfried Philippi was married with the actress Lissy Lind.

He also wrote the screenplays to many of his own movies.

In the first years he appeared on different smaller German stages, finally he also head a guest performance in London. In later years he also directed numerous plays at the theater.

The director and writer Siegfried Philippi began his career at the theater where he gained a foothold after his acting education.

His film career came to an end with the rise of the sound film. He only directed the movie "Wenn Du noch eine Heimat hast" (1930) a last time.
