The 1977 science-fiction action-adventure TV show Logan’s Run was inspired by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson’s 1967 novel and its subsequent 1974 movie adaptation.
The television series spins a tale about a post-apocalyptic 24th century where the planet’s remaining inhabitants live a life of total bliss in an isolated domed city until their 30th birthday, when they are promised the possibility of a renewed life but are in actuality put to death.
The series stars Gregory Harrison (TV’s Trapper John, M.D.), Heather Menzies (The Sound of Music), Donald Moffat (A Clear and Present Danger) and Randy Powell (TV’s Dallas).
Though the show ran for only 14 episodes — all of which are included in the Logan’s Run: The Complete Series DVD set — the series picked up a sizable cult following.
