A couple weeks back, fans of the Prime Video show Good Omens — about an unlikely friendship between the angle Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the demon Crowley (David Tennant) — got some bad news: no longer would the show's third and final season be...well, a season of TV. Instead, it will be one 90-minute episode that will wrap up all the stories the second season left dangling, most notably what will become of Aziraphale and Crowley now that they've parted ways, with Aziraphale returning to heaven to help plan the Second Coming and Crowley getting as far away from all that mess as he possibly can.
Fans have grown very attached to Aziraphale and Crowley, and many were upset with the news. The season is being cut down almost certainly because of a series of sexual assault allegations made against Neil Gaiman, who not only co-wrote the original Good Omens book...

The premise for John Pasquin's 1994 hit Christmas film "The Santa Clause" is amusingly morbid at its heart. On Christmas Eve, divorced schlub Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) hears a clatter on his rooftop. When he goes to investigate, he finds that it's Santa Claus himself, scuttling down his chimney. Scott startles Santa, causing the jolly old fellow to slip off the roof and fall to his death. Yes, a delightful family comedy begins with the death of Santa.
Following some written instructions hidden on a business card in Santa's sleigh, Scott puts on the big guy's red coat and, lo finds he has to take Santa's place for the night. Once all the gifts are delivered, Calvin is taken to the North Pole, where he learns there was some fine print on the business card. In putting on the coat, Scott agreed to become Santa Claus in perpetuity, and will...

David Tennant and Michael Sheen will return for a final, feature length episode of Good Omens.
The television adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s fantasy series Good Omens has been hugely successful over the last few years, not least due to the chemistry and charisma of leading duo David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The second series, which debuted in August 2023, was reported to be the number one show on Amazon Prime worldwide, and the first season was hardly struggling for acclaim, either.
The show had been commissioned for a third series before serious abuse allegations about Neil Gaiman (who wrote the adaptation) were made public. Gaiman has strongly denied those allegations.
Production on several of Gaiman’s projects, including Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, was halted, although it seems Netflix is still pressing ahead with the second series of The Sandman. You can read about the allegations here.

Neil Gaiman is (mostly) exiting “Good Omens” amid some bad press.
The series creator, showrunner, executive producer, and writer has stepped aside from the show’s third season, which paused its pre-production amid assault allegations against Gaiman, according to Deadline.
Prime Video today has announced that “Good Omens” will return for a feature-length series finale that will be produced without Gaiman’s involvement — though he did help write it.
“While Gaiman has contributed to the writing of the ‘Good Omens’ series finale, he will not be working on the production,” the official press statement reads.
“Good Omens” stars Michael Sheen as an angel and David Tennant as a demon Crowley. Frances McDormand, Jon Hamm, and Miranda Richardson co-star. The series is adapted from Gaiman’s novel “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch,” co-written with Terry Pratchett. If you're a fan of Prime Video's Good Omens and have been eagerly awaiting more odd-couple bickering between Michael Sheen's angel Aziraphale and David Tennant's demon Crowley, then we've got some good news, some bad news, and some ongoing troubling news for you. The good news is, per Deadline's reporting, a 90-minute follow-up to that emotional Season 2 finale is heading our way at long last, with shooting due to begin in Scotland early next year The bad news then is that said hour-and-a-half episode is coming instead of rather than in addition to the third and final season of the show that was announced last December.
The cause for the shake-up to Good Omens' divine plans isn't a reflection of the show's popularity or critical reception — by all means it continues to be one of the better reviewed and beloved adaptations of Terry Pratchett's fantasy work. Rather...

Good Omens will return for season 3, but it'll be quite a bit different than what was originally planned. TV Line reports that they've learned from inside sources that the third season of Prime Video's hit fantasy show is going through a bit of a restructure. Instead of being multiple episodes long like the previous two seasons, Good Omens' third and final outing will only consist of one 90-minute episode. In other words, the show is going out with a TV movie.
This almost certainly comes about as a result of the ongoing sexual assault allegations against author Neil Gaiman, who co-authored the original Good Omens novel with beloved Discworld creator Terry Pratchett and was set to serve as the sole showrunner for the television show's final season. Back in early September, Prime Video paused work on Good Omens season 3 over these allegations, with Gaiman offering to step away from the...

The Prime Video series Good Omens covered the events of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter (buy a copy Here) in the six episode first season – but last year, we got a second season that went beyond the events of the book, and then the show was renewed for a third and final season. Good Omens season 3 ran into trouble when sexual assault allegations were made against Gaiman. Pre-production was paused and we heard that Amazon was having discussions about possible production changes. Now, Deadline reports that they’ve reached a decision on what they’re going to do about Good Omens. The plan to make a full third season has been scrapped, and instead the show will get one 90-minute send-off episode.

Good Omens will get a proper ending, but it will be with a shorter final season than expected. The Prime Video series, which was originally going to be ending with a third and final season, will be wrapping up with one 90-minute episode. Neil Gaiman, who co-wrote the book on which it’s based with Terry Pratchett, will not be working on production following allegations of sexual assault against him. He has contributed to the writing of the series finale. Production on the episode is expected to begin in early 2025 in Scotland. It will “bring to life a serendipitous conversation from almost 35 years ago, between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, where they mapped out ‘what happens next’ to the wonderful characters in the world of their internationally best-selling novel,” according to Prime Video. The series follows Michael Sheen‘s angel Aziraphale and David Tennant‘s demon Crowley,...

Good Omens is getting a final send-off, albeit a truncated one.
The Amazon fantasy drama will end with one 90-minute episode in lieu of a full third season with creator Neil Gaiman exiting after allegations were made against him by a slew of women.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant, play the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, respectively, will return for the one-off television movie, which will begin shooting in early 2025 in Scotland, after pre-production was paused due to the allegations.
Gaiman contributed to the writing of the series finale but will not be working on the production and his production company the Blank Corporation is no longer involved. A new writer is expected to finish up the work, although insiders said that deal has not been closed.
This comes after Tortoise Media released a podcast that chronicled accounts of two women, with whom he was in consensual relationships, who accused him of sexual assault.

The third and final season of Good Omens at Prime Video will stretch — or maybe shrink — the definition of “season” in TV terms.
The Amazon-owned streamer announced Thursday that the series, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant and is based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel, will end with a single, feature-length episode. The 90-minute installment is set to begin production early next year in Scotland.
Prime Video also noted that Gaiman won’t be involved in production on the series ender (though he did contribute to its writing). Earlier this year, five women accused the author of sexual assault; their claims are detailed in a podcast titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. He has denied any wrongdoing but offered to step away from the final Good Omens to let the production go forward and conclude the story.

Neil Gaiman is synonymous with The Sandman, both the DC comics he created and the Netflix series based on them, on which he is an executive producer. Ahead of the show’s 2022 launch, the streamer even released a video playing up Gaiman’s wonder at touring the sets, following him as he marveled at seeing his creations in physical form for the first time.
So when Netflix put out a behind-the-scenes peek at The Sandman Season 2 on Thursday, Gaiman’s absence from the video was notable — particularly in light of recent sexual assault allegations made against the beloved fantasy author.

Over the last few months, iconic author Neil Gaiman — the man behind works like The Sandman and American Gods — has been accused of “non-consensual sex” and “sexual assault” by five women. Tortoise Media ran a story on two of them back in July. Later that month, another came forward on the Am I Broken: Survivor Stories podcast. And at the beginning of August, two more came forward on Tortoise Media's podcast.
Gaiman is an incredibly influential author who had several shows and movies based on his books and comics either in the works or already airing. Disney has now canceled a planned movie adaptation of his novel The Graveyard Book, and Amazon Prime Video has put the third and final season of Good Omens — an extension of the book of the same name Gaiman co-wrote with the late Terry Pratchett — on hold.

Exclusive: Neil Gaiman is understood to have offered to step back from the third and final season of Prime Video’s fantasy drama Good Omens.
Deadline revealed on Monday that pre-production had paused on the BBC Studios-produced show in the wake of allegations made by four women against Gaiman, which he denies. This came after Disney’s planned feature adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 YA title The Graveyard Book also was put on pause.
Now, we understand that Gaiman has made an offer to Amazon and producers to take a back seat on the latest season so that it can continue amid crisis talks over the Terry Pratchett adaptation’s future. Deadline understands Gaiman’s offer is not an admission of wrongdoing following a podcast from Tortoise Media that chronicled accounts of two women, with whom he was in consensual relationships, who accused him of sexual assault. Another two have since come forward.

Deadline understands Gaiman’s offer is not an admission of wrongdoing following a podcast from Tortoise Media that chronicled accounts of two women, with whom he was in consensual relationships, who accused him of sexual assault. Another two have since come forward.

Last week, it was revealed that Disney had paused its live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book following the revelation that multiple women had accused the author of sexual assault. And now, in the same vein, Amazon Prime Video has hit the pause button on the third and final season of Good Omens.
The British author, 63, has faced several allegations of “non-consensual sex” and “sexual assault” in the last few months. In a July report from Tortoise Media, Gaiman was accused of sexually assaulting a then-20-year-old woman, who he'd met at the age of 18 at one of his book signings in 2003, and later a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett in 2022. In late July, another woman came forward on the Am I Broken: Survivor Stories podcast who claimed Gaiman had sexually assaulted her in 2012. Then at the beginning of August, two more women came forward on Tortoise Media's podcast.

Prime Video has halted production on the final season of “Good Omens.” The decision comes two months after series creator and showrunner Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by several women.
The series, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel-and-demon duo, was preparing to shoot in Scotland before the streamer elected to pause the production to consider changes. Amazon declined to comment.
Adapted from the 1990 novel that Gaiman co-authored with Terry Pratchett, “Good Omens” is the latest Gaiman adaptation to lose momentum as the author faces allegations of sexual assault. Last week, it was reported that “The Graveyard Book,” a feature adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 novel with Marc Forster attached to direct, had paused development at Disney.

Production on the third and final season of Good Omens has been underway in Scotland, but Deadline reports that it’s been put on pause. Uh oh. The reason for the pause isn’t clear, but Deadline has heard that there are “discussions about possible production changes.” It’s speculated that this pause is related to the sexual assault allegations made against Good Omens co-creator Neil Gaiman by several women earlier this summer.
The allegations were made in a podcast series released by Tortoise Media titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. Some of the allegations go back decades, with the woman accusing Gaiman of “rough, degrading” sex that was not always consensual. Gaiman has denied the allegations, saying he was “disturbed” by them. Disney also paused a feature film adaptation of Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book earlier this week.

The hit fantasy series “Good Omens” is facing an unclear path forward. Filming for the show’s third and final season had been underway in Scotland but has now stopped. According to inside sources, the production team is discussing potential changes related to the paused production. However, a spokesperson for the series would not give specifics on the discussions or reasons for halting filming.
The pause comes during a difficult time for Neil Gaiman, who created the TV adaptation and serves as executive producer, head writer, and showrunner. Just last week, Disney scrapped plans for a movie based on one of Gaiman’s books after sexual assault claims surfaced against him.
In a podcast earlier this summer, Tortoise Media aired accounts from four women alleging misconduct by Gaiman. He has denied the accusations, expressing surprise at their details. Despite renewing “Good Omens” in December, questions now arise about how Gaiman...

Based on a novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, the show follows an angel named Aziraphale and a demon named Crowley who form an unlikely friendship over the years spent on Earth.
While Season 2 of the hit show ended on an emotional cliffhanger last year, interviews with actors Michael Sheen and David Tennant offered insights into what’s ahead. Sheen, who plays Aziraphale, said fans had strong reactions to the end of the last season. He hinted Season 3 will provide satisfying resolution for viewers. Tennant, who plays Crowley, teased upcoming scenes focus more on the romantic relationship between the two main characters.

Content warning: cites and links to reporting and personal essays on sexual abuse
We’re coming up on the seventh anniversary of a world-changing event: the publication of Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey’s bombshell New York Times exposé, “Harvey Weinstein Paid Off Sexual Harassment Accusers for Decades.” The story had immediate effect in the entertainment industry, as survivors of sexual misconduct (or worse) by powerful men came forward with their own stories, seeing evidence that journalists were interested in reporting out their stories. Historically, abusers with enough money or clout could kill damaging features about their actions; maybe that era was finally coming to an end. Or maybe abusers have just spent the last seven years learning how to ride out allegations and then go back to work.

“It’s still in development, but obviously I’m very excited to work with David again, and I love that character. I’m very excited about it,” he told TV Insider.

The second season of Good Omens ended with the demon Crowley (David Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) parting on bad terms. It's the same old story: Crowley wanted the two of them to run away and spend their immortal lives together, but Aziraphale wanted to accept a cushy new job in heaven where he would get to usher in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Aziraphale invited Crowley to join him, but Crowley didn't want to because of lingering trauma from the war between heaven and hell fought untold ages ago, so they kissed and then parted, possibly forever. We've all been there.

It will be worth it. That’s what the first two seasons of Good Omens have taught us as we await the third to return. The Prime Video series, based on the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett and now expanding on that story, began by following the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the demon Crowley (David Tennant) over the leading up to their attempt to stop Armageddon after the birth of the antichrist. The second season moved beyond the book and saw Aziraphale and Crowley hiding the amnesiac archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) from both Heaven and Hell before it ended in heartbreak. We know it will be some time before we find out what happens next, so below, we’re gathering everything we know about the future of Good Omens, including teases we got from Gaiman. Where Did Good Omens Season 2 Leave Crowley & Aziraphale?...

Welcome to the island of St Jory, population: one less than there used to be.
A year ago, St Jory teenager Cai Prideaux went missing and the police did very little about it. Now there’s a new sheriff in town in Sgt Grace Narayan (Anjli Mohindra), an outsider with an unbending belief in the letter of the law that’s ruffling feathers among the locals. The islanders, you see, are used to running things their own way. The True Way.
That’s the Hot Fuzz-meets-The Wicker Man premise for The Red King, an original six-part series written by Being Human creator Toby Whithouse and directed by Daniel O’Hara and Lisa Clarke. It’s a crime drama/folk horror mash-up that uses murder mystery trappings to tell a story about religion, insularity and national identity.

This past week saw the release of The Book of Clarence, a movie about a down-on-his-luck guy who hits upon a get-rich-quick scheme that leads him into a heap of trouble. It’s a classic topic for a movie, but it is treading on more controversial ground than usual. Because in the case of this story about a hustler getting in over his head, the hustle happens to be set around Israel and Palestine during the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth. In fact, that is Clarence’s whole scheme: He sees Jesus and decides to get into the messiah business.
This is not the first film to portray the story of one of Jesus’ fictional contemporaries. Monty Python’s Life of Brian attracted protests, controversy, and endless talk show guest slots over its portrayal of a man who was definitely not the messiah, just a very naughty boy.

When Paul Thomas Anderson went against the industry grain and cast Adam Sandler as the lead in his fourth feature, "Punch Drunk Love," many people in Hollywood felt the brashly talented filmmaker's ego had inflated to Welles-ian proportions. After the dazzling excess of "Magnolia" (which was more divisive at the time than it is now), there was a sense that he was provoking for provocation's sake. Outside of Steven Seagal, it's possible there wasn't a more critically loathed star in America — and it wasn't just the movies they hated. They detested him. They considered him a charisma vacuum who needed someone as irresistibly lovable as Drew Barrymore to render his presence in a film tolerable.
Anderson shattered these misconceptions. Though Sandler didn't dive headlong into dramas after "Punch Drunk Love," he'd take on a non-comedic part every few years and remind us of his untapped potential — which he fully realized...

Watch the trailer for “Good Omens” Season 2 below:

David Tennant and Michael Sheen are back in the third series of Good Omens, here are the details.
Neil Gaiman’s television adaptation of his and Terry Pratchett’s fantasy series Good Omens has been hugely successful these past few years, not least due to the chemistry and charisma of leading duo David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The second series, which debuted in August, was reported to be the number one show on Amazon Prime worldwide, and the first season was hardly struggling for acclaim, either.
A third series commission has been on the cards for a while, with the caveat that producer, director and co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon would not be returning.
However, that hasn’t stopped Amazon pressing ahead with the third and final series.
While plot details are thin on the ground, we do know that David Tennant and Michael Sheen will be reprising their roles as fast-living...

The tale of the Ineffable Husbands isn't over just yet. Amazon has officially picked up "Good Omens" for a third and final season, with Neil Gaiman once again serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. For Gaiman, in particular, season 3 will offer him a chance to complete the story that he and the late, great Terry Pratchett -- his co-writer on the original "Good Omens" novel and the Aziraphale to his Crowley -- first began plotting out nearly 35 years ago.

The resulting season was a frothy yet largely charming rom-com in which the Ineffable Husbands came...

Michael Sheen is back as angel/rare-book dealer Aziraphale and David Tennant returns as the demon Crowley for a third – and final – season of Prime Video’s incredibly engaging series Good Omens. Filming is expected to get underway soon in Scotland, with author Neil Gaiman back as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
“I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” said Gaiman. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season One was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season Two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in Season Three,...
