Next year, Charlie Cox will return to our screens as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, a new show coming to Disney+. Cox originally played Murdock in the Daredevil show on Netflix, which was a favorite among fans until it was canceled in 2018, mainly thanks to Disney shoring up its intellectual property in advance of launching their own streaming series. There have been questions about whether the new Daredevil show will actually continue the story from the original, but Cox is here to set our minds at ease. The original show is indeed canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
That implies that all the other Netflix Marvel shows — including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist — are also part of the MCU, which could complicate things. It's a nightmare for fans obsessed with continuity. So far, we've only seen Daredevil pop up in the MCU proper, with Cox making short...

Daredevil: Born Again is now less than four months away from arriving on Disney+ and Empire Online has just shared our first official look at Matt Murdock and the returning Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
For those of you who couldn't help but look at every set photo, this shot may be somewhat familiar.
Of course, there was a version of this series where neither character appeared; however, as part of a far-reaching creative overhaul, both were added to the Daredevil revival in key supporting roles.
"There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person," Cox told the magazine. "But it ended up more of a continuation. A lot of the history follows on. The relationships and dynamics set up in the previous seasons still exist."

For years now, Marvel fans have waited to see what exactly Marvel Studios planned to do with Daredevil. In recent years, we’ve had a few glimpses. Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock made a brief but thrilling appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, proving himself once again to be a really good lawyer. Plus we got to see him be a really good fighter, too, in She-Hulk, where Matt and Jennifer Walters undertook some rough-and-tumble, both against baddies and between the sheets. But now the time has come – Daredevil is about to be Born Again at last, with an all-new Disney+ series picking-up where the hit Netflix show left off. Well, more or less.
“There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person,” Cox tells Empire in our Andor Season 2 issue. “But it ended up more of a continuation.” By the sounds of it,...

Last October, the news broke that Marvel Studios had fired Daredevil: Born Again Head Writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman as part of a creative overhaul.
Directors hired to helm the remaining instalments of the 9-episode were also let go, and while some of the material shot will still be used, the idea was to take the Daredevil revival in a new creative direction.
Dario Scardapane was later tapped to serve as showrunner, with Moon Knight and Loki directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead brought on board to help right the ship.
Now, the Writers Guild of America website has revealed the official writing credits and Ord and Corman are only credited for the second episode. This suggests that most of their ideas were left on the cutting room floor and their contributions are now minimal at best. They will, however, still be named as executive producers.

You may recall that, when Daredevil: Born Again was first announced, it was as an 18-episode TV series. The news was met with surprise and excitement in equal measure, especially as the vast majority of Marvel Studios' streaming offerings have been only 6 episodes.
We've seen Marvel Studios struggle to master small screen storytelling, and Daredevil: Born Again soon ran into trouble. The show's original creative team made it so that Matt Murdock didn't suit up for at least the first four or five episodes; if these 18 episodes were a movie, then that's only the first act; however, for a weekly TV show, such an approach could be a major turn-off for fans.
As a result, Daredevil: Born Again received a creative overhaul and was split into two nine-episode seasons.
Talking to Phase Hero, Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum explained the decision to essentially split the Daredevil revival in two.

We’re just a few months away from the release of Daredevil: Born Again. The show will bring back familiar characters, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen.
While we don’t know much about the plot yet, we do know that Kingpin will be the Mayor of New York City and will use his power to get rid of vigilantes and superheroes.
We also know that Daredevil’s villain Muse will play a big part in making the show darker and more violent, which is likely why it’s rated TV-ma.
Recently, Vincent D’Onofrio was asked if he would be interested in adapting the Devil’s Reign storyline.
In this storyline, Daredevil faces powerful enemies trying to take over New York City. Kingpin, now the mayor, uses his power to make life harder for Daredevil and other heroes.

Marvel Studios has released two new official stills from Daredevil: Born Again ahead of its Disney+ debut next March. The first shows the Man Without Fear in costume, while the second highlights a tense confrontation between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.
We can also confirm, courtesy of Disney's press site, that this exchange between the two enemies takes place in the first episode.
"I think it's a series that can run for multiple seasons," Marvel Studios' Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, confirmed earlier this week. He'd add that the "intricate" New York setting makes Daredevil akin to Game of Thrones in the sense "[there are] just multiple factions vying for power in really complex ways."
"I actually don't think the audience is ready for Daredevil: Born Again like, it goes really deep in these characters," teased Winderbaum. "It is one of the more violent things we've put on screen...

Daredevil: Born Again is set to release in about four months, and fans are already excited. The show will bring back familiar characters like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen.
The original version of Daredevil: Born Again was canceled after filming almost half of the episodes because it wasn’t interesting and didn’t fit the tone of Netflix’s original show. It was meant to be more of a courtroom drama with very little action from Daredevil.
After a creative overhaul, the show has become darker, which is confirmed by the stars and the recent teaser trailer. It will now have a tone more similar to Netflix’s Daredevil series and is expected to be rated TV-ma.

Another beloved movie is about to undergo the remake / reboot treatment next year. 1999’s horror-comedy Idle Hands was a box-office bomb on its initial release, but has since entered the realm of cult favorites.
Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Billy Bryk have been signed to write a “reimagining” of Idle Hands, which is planned to be released in the summer of 2025. They are also in talks to possibly direct the remake. Wolfhard and Bryk previously worked together on another horror-comedy, Hell of a Summer, which they wrote and directed, and starred in together. The two received a lot of critical acclaim for Hell of a Summer, which is quite a feat given their young ages; Wolfhard is 22, and Bryk is 25.
Finn Wolfhard achieved early notoriety because of his portrayal of Mike Wheeler in Netflix series Stranger Things. He had previously appeared in the series 100 and Supernatural, but as we all remember,...

Daredevil: Born Again arrives on Disney+ next March. When the series was first announced, it was as an 18-episode TV show, and we've since learned that those will be split across two seasons (with season 2 beginning production any month now).
There's a huge amount of intrigue surrounding Marvel Television's plans for the Man Without Fear and The Cosmic Circus has today shared a few new rumoured details about the long-awaited Daredevil revival.
Apparently, "[Bullseye] plays an interesting role in Born Again. Not necessarily a lot of action, though, more psychological warfare based if you will. He’s gonna hit Matt where it hurts."
This hopefully means we're getting more than a few throwaway action scenes with the villain. Beyond Bullseye, Daredevil will have his hands full dealing with the twisted serial killer Muse.
This report claims "Muse is part of the reason why this show is going to be TV-ma.

Sony Pictures is giving the 1999 horror-comedy “Idle Hands” a new lease on life by hiring Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and his writing partner Billy Bryk to give the movie a new spin.
The first movie, which made just over $4 million at the box office, stars Devon Sawa as a teenage girl who has to fight a murderous hand that has been possessed. Even though it didn’t do very well at the box office, the movie has gained many loyal fans over the last twenty years.
The writing team has now been assembled, and Jason Reitman will produce the show with Jennifer and Suzanne Todd. The reboot is part of Sony’s new plan to revive old horror movies. For example, the next “I Know What You Did Last Summer” movie is set to come out on July 15, 2025.
Devon Sawa, the original show’s star, has given the idea his full support.

Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are writing a remake of 90s cult horror comedy Idle Hands with Jason Reitman producing.
Another day, another remake is heading our way. Variety reports that Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are writing a remake of Idle Hands, the 1999 horror comedy, with Jason Reitman producing the pic.
According to Variety, Sony is also keen on Bryk and Wolfhard to direct the film due to their success with another horror comedy, Hell Of A Summer, which the pair wrote, produced and directed together. One of the zaniest little cult horror films of the 1990s is getting a remake, and it's coming from a pretty unlikely team. According to Variety, "Idle Hands," the 1999 stoner horror comedy that stars Devon Sawa as a teenager named Anton who is forced to do battle with his hand when it becomes possessed by the devil, is getting a remake produced by Jason Reitman, the director behind movies like "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" and "Saturday Night." Rodman Flender’s 1990s horror-comedy Idle Hands is getting a remake, with Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) attached to write and possibly co-direct the upcoming movie!
Variety reports that Finn Wolfhard and his Hell of a Summer collaborator Billy Bryk will be co-writing the movie, and it’s possible the duo may also end up directing. Wolfhard just made his directorial debut with the slasher Hell of a Summer, which is being released in 2025.
Jason Reitman (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) will produce the Sony Pictures remake of Idle Hands. Reitman is producing alongside Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd via their Team Todd banner. Gil Keenan also will produce, while Maia Eyre is overseeing the project at Sony.
In Idle Hands, Anton Tobias (Devon Sawa) is a channel-surfing, junk-food munching, couch potato burn-out who can’t control the murderous impulses of his recently possessed hand.

The teen horror genre has offered us a series of different titles. Some of which were good, some of which were horrible. But even among those horrible ones, let alone the good ones, there have been several cult classic titles, and Idle Hands, which came out in 1999, is a great example of such a movie.
Back in 1999, the film received mostly negative reviews and bombed completely at the box office ($4.2 million on a c. $25 million budget), but has since gained a cult following and is considered to be one of the classics of the genre, despite all of its shortcomings.
Well, as you can assume, in light of the remake mania that’s been hitting Hollywood in the last decade, Idle Hands is poised to get a remake, and some very interesting names are attached to the project. Which is why we have decided to report on the project.

Daredevil: Born Again is just a few months away, and fans are already buzzing with excitement. The show will bring back familiar characters, with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen.
The original version of Daredevil: Born Again was canceled after filming nearly half of the episodes because it didn’t capture the right tone and lacked enough action. It was planned to be more of a courtroom drama with very little Daredevil action.
After the show went through major changes and additional reshoots, it was confirmed multiple times that the new version now has a tone (and action) closer to Netflix’s original series. The latest teaser trailer confirms this shift.

When you watch a TV show as disaster-prone as Grey’s Anatomy is, and when you follow a protagonist as trauma-ridden as Meredith Grey is, you’d better keep the tissues close at hand. Shonda Rhimes and the ABC hospital drama’s other writers have been pulling at our heartstrings for two decades now, but sometimes, they yank those strings hard enough to rip our hearts into shreds instead. Here are our selections for the saddest moments from the show’s run so far. 13. Bailey tells a desperate father he has to stop. In Season 5’s “Sweet Surrender,” a dad (Elden Henson) is ready to travel to Mexico to find a cure for his daughter’s case of Tay-Sachs. But Bailey (Chandra Wilson) convinces him to stay with his daughter during her final moments, and he offers his daughter a white lie before she dies. 12. Ellis belittles Meredith. Ellis Grey...

Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most anticipated projects to come from Marvel Studios. One of the rare TV-ma projects from the studio, the project is set to continue the story of Netflix’s Daredevil, which, by extension, has made the entire Defenders line canon in the MCU. The show is to be rated for a mature audience, which is something that has gotten fans more excited.

The show is also set to include characters like The Punisher and Muse, and there have been reports that it will have some ‘horror vibes’. While these seem to fit in perfectly with a Daredevil show, fans are concerned that Marvel might fail to deliver on this again, given that Moon Knight faced something similar with its action scenes.

Shortly after we learned that Marvel Studios planned to revisit the Man Without Fear for a new Daredevil Disney+ series, a pretty far-fetched rumor that Tom Holland's Spider-Man was set to make an appearance did the rounds online.
More reliable sources would later report that, although Spidey would not be swinging by in person, the iconic Wall-Crawler would get a mention.
Following the release of the first teaser (see below), we may know exactly how Spider-Man will be referenced in Born Again.
If you'd rather not know anything about the scene in question, here's your spoiler warning.
According to Mttsh, Wilson Fisk gives a speech after being elected Mayor of New York, encouraging the citizens to move past relying on heroes who "dress as a spider, a devil, or a psycho vigilante with a skull symbol" to save them.
Yeah, that's it!

It's hard to believe that Agatha All Along has been on our TV screens for seven weeks. Marvel Television's most recent series has been three years in the making, bringing Kathryn Hahn back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the nefarious ancient witch Agatha Harkness. What makes it even more special is that it is a spinoff to Marvel Studios' original Disney Plus series WandaVision, so it had some pretty big witchy shoes to fill. To say that it has pulled it off would be a major understatement.
The show has definitely made the most of the fact that it's a TV series, producing episodic adventures each week based around the trials that Agatha and her coven encountered on the Witches' Road. It was like WandaVision in that way, and a wonderful return to form for the MCU TV shows. It was also a heck of a way to...

Someone at Disney+ might have really screwed up.
Late last night, fans who played the first episode of Agatha All Along were treated to a new trailer revealing the first official footage from Daredevil: Born Again, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Ironheart, What If...? season 3, Marvel Zombies, Eyes of Wakanda, and even Wonder Man.
We imagine this was meant to debut alongside tonight's two-part finale, as Marvel Studios typically releases its teasers at prime time rather than when most of the world is asleep!
Regardless, we now have confirmation that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is coming on January 29, with Ironheart set for a June 24 launch, Eyes of Wakanda rolling out on August 6, Marvel Zombies eyeing October (right in time for Halloween), and Wonder Man confirmed for December.
The footage shown here includes an awful lot that wasn't in the trailers leaked from Comic-Con and D23 earlier this summer. In the case of Daredevil: Born Again,...

Should we prepare for something deeply personal in Daredevil: Born Again? That could just be reading too much into the title. Lawyer-turned-vigilante, Matt Murdock is returning after years of anticipation. Set to hit Disney+ in 2025, Daredevil: Born Again will mark the return of one of Marvel’s most beloved.
When Daredevil first appeared on Netflix in 2015, it stood out like a sore thumb — especially when compared to the light-hearted tone of the MCU’s mainstream films and shows. Daredevil offered something else – grit, brutality, and moral existentialism.

Set in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, the Netflix series followed Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who moonlights as a vigilante superhero. Unlike others, not just the MCU, Murdock does not channel the cosmic or something superhuman—he has a blind man’s heightened senses and a relentless moral compass.

The original Netflix Daredevil series didn't really feature that many scenes with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) together, which made it all the more impactful when the two did share the screen.
Though fans are very excited about seeing these bitter enemies reunite for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, it sounds like the Disney+ revival is going to take a similar approach - but with good reason.
"With these characters, you have to always feel like, were they to cross paths, they would fight to the death," Cox explains to Collider. "It would be hugely explosive. So, you have to, in the writing of a show, in the construction of it, you have to limit the amount of time they can be together or you have to give them real reason for them not to be together.”

Their histories are expected to lead to an intense clash between Murdock’s justice and Fisk’s ambition.

Daredevil: Born Again has a release date, so here’s when fans can see the Man Without Fear hit Disney+!
Created in 1963, Daredevil has been one of Marvel’s best-ever characters. For newbies, when he was a young child, Matt Murdock was accidentally doused with radioactive chemicals that blinded him. However, it also gave Matt super-enhanced senses as well as a “radar sense” to be able to “see” around him.
When his boxer father refused to take a dive and was murdered by mobsters, Matt wanted justice. After becoming a lawyer, Matt took on the identity of Daredevil to fight various criminals. The character hit a high point in the early 1980s under writer/artist Frank Miller, who made him darker and tougher while introducing his major foe of mob boss, the Kingpin and femme fatale Elektra.
The character was brought to life in a 2003 big screen movie starring Ben Affleck,...

The release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is around 6 months away, and the show is already generating significant amounts of hype. The show will see the return of a beloved cast, Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio will be back as Kingpin with Elden Henson back as Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll will be back as Karen.
The original ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was scrapped after filming nearly half episodes, due to the show being uninteresting and not aligning with the tone of Netflix’s original show. Apparently, it was supposed to be a comedy and courtroom drama that would see very little Daredevil action.

Marvel Studios held a New York Comic-Con panel for Daredevil: Born Again earlier today, and even though the trailer that screened wasn't officially released, we did finally get an official premiere date for the long-awaited Disney+ series.
The Man Without Fear will return to our screens for a now confirmed 9-episode run on March 4, 2025.
“When we finally figured out how to do this show, it was so exciting, and to really play it the way that Charlie [Cox] and I always wanted to continue. A lot of us involved in the first iteration were really yearning for a better way, and it worked out,” said Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio during the panel.
Matt Murdock actor Charlie Cox also expressed his excitement for the show, adding that he'd like to see his character's costume get the iconic "Dd" chest logo from the comics at some point.
