One of the things that has left fans of The Big Bang Theory disappointed is how the showrunners concluded Raj Koothrappali’s story in the series finale. Unlike the rest of his friends, Raj’s romantic arc remained unresolved, leaving him single despite his numerous love interests throughout the series.

However, there were ways to avoid the disappointing end of the character’s journey. While most of his love interests were explored in the show, some were left largely unaddressed, including his connection with Yvette the Vet. Introduced in Season 7, the character was forgotten after a single appearance, despite the promising chemistry she shared with Raj.

In a split ruling today, a state appeals court panel reinstated a grant of parole for former Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten, overturning an earlier decision by Gov. Gavin Newsom to block her release.

Tuesday’s decision does not automatically mean Van Houten will be released. The state could still appeal the ruling to the California Supreme Court. Neither the governor’s office nor the state Attorney General’s Office immediately returned a message seeking comment.

Van Houten, now 73, is serving a potential life prison sentence for taking part in the killings of Leno and Rosemary Labianca in their Los Feliz home more than 50 years ago.

Amy Winehouse’s father is standing by the controversial casting of the upcoming biopic “Back to Black.”

After fans reacted to the late singer being portrayed onscreen for the first time, Mitch Winehouse stood by the casting of “Industry” breakout Marisa Abela as the Grammy-winning singer.

“Marisa’s a great choice for the role, even if she doesn’t look exactly like Amy,” Mitch told TMZ amid social media backlash to first-look images.

The Focus Features film is helmed by Sam Taylor-Johnson with production beginning January 16 in London. The film follows Amy’s “vibrant years living in London in the early aughts and her intense journey to fame,” per an official logline.

Eddie Marsan plays Mitch in the film, with “Skins” alum Jack O’Connell cast as Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The couple divorced in 2009, two years before Amy’s overdose death in 2011. Lesley Manville stars as Amy’s maternal grandmother.

Focus Features is bringing Amy Winehouse to the big screen. The studio has acquired “Back to Black,” the upcoming biopic of the beloved singer from Studiocanal, it was announced Friday. Focus Features also released a first look image from the film, featuring lead actor Marisa Abela in character as Winehouse.

News of this biopic about Winehouse’s life was first announced last July, with Abela reportedly joining the project later that month. The film will follow the acclaimed music artist’s rise to fame through her 2006 album “Back to Black,” before her tragic 2011 death from alcohol poisoning. Since 2011, multiple biopics about Winehouse’s career have been in development, with stars like Noomi Rapace and Tania Raymonde getting attached to separate projects. In 2015, the acclaimed documentary about her life titled “Amy” was released and won Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards.

The iconic 007 franchise, known for its sultry Oscar-winning theme songs, was meant to have a ballad written and sung by the late Grammy winner for 2008’s “Quantum of Solace” starring Daniel Craig as the famed MI6 agent. Bond producer Barbara Broccoli revealed that meeting with the “Back to Black” singer was “distressing” due to Winehouse being “not at her best” in 2008, three years before her fatal 2011 overdose.

“Well, that was a very very distressing meeting, she was not at her best and my heart really went out to her,” Broccoli told Entertainment Weekly while promoting Amazon’s Prime Video documentary “Sound of 007,” streaming October 5. “She was very fragile emotionally and, you know, you understood how she could create such moving material, because she has a great depth of feeling and it was very, very tragic.”

Brandon Sklenar has joined the cast of the Paramount+ series 1923, the Yellowstone prequel spinoff from Taylor Sheridan. He will portray Spencer Dutton, Jacob Dutton’s (Harrison Ford) nephew, and John Dutton Sr.’s (James Badge Dale) brother, who has witnessed the horrors of World War I.

Vocal legend Amy Winehouse is now getting the big-screen biopic treatment.

The late Grammy winner, who died in 2011 at age 27, will be at the center of a musical biopic helmed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. Deadline first reported that Studiocanal is backing the film, currently titled “Back to Black” after Winehouse’s hit album.

Matt Greenhalgh is penning the script, teaming up again with director Taylor-Johnson after collaborating on 2009’s John Lennon story “Nowhere Boy.” Studiocanal is producing with Alison Owen and Debra Hayward alongside Tracey Seaward.

The film will follow Winehouse’s life and rise to fame before dying of an alcohol and drug overdose in July 2011. Multiple projects have since been in the works attempting to capture Winehouse’s legacy, with Noomi Rapace previously attached to star in a Lotus Entertainment vehicle. The streaming service on Wednesday dropped a full-length trailer for the Billy Bob Thornton drama’s farewell run, which introduces Oscar winner Jk Simmons as George Zax, the head of a family-operated pharmaceutical company. Over the course of eight episodes, Thornton’s McBride “returns to his Big Law roots after Patty (Nina Arianda) takes a job at a prestigious white-shoe law firm in San Francisco,” according to the official logline.

Exclusive: Paris-based Elevate Artist Management, an emerging management and creative firm founded by Florent Lamy in 2015, is expanding with offices soon planned to open in Los Angeles and Dubai. The agency reps U.S. and European talent in France and Europe and will also specialize in original and premium content creation across all media.

With the LA office, which is eyeing a September launch, Lamy intends to reinforce ties between the U.S. and European industries by building a bridge for talent from both areas and producing Franco-American projects in English. He says, “We will work closely with American producers, studios, agents and managers in order to offer an added value to their artists and projects by creating sustainable opportunities with high value on the European market, in the fields of cinema, television and commercials, but also opportunities for co-production, European financing, packaging and sales of films.”

More than 20 months after it was renewed, Amazon Prime‘s Goliath has been given a premiere date for its fourth and final season.

The streamer announced on Tuesday that the legal drama, starring Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Billy Bob Thornton, will release all of its final eight episodes on Friday, Sept. 24 (in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide).

Billy Bob Thornton will take his final turn as Billy McBride in Amazon Prime Video’s Goliath on September 24 – which means the character somehow survived the murder attempt in the season 3 finale.

And he’s looking to face some serious goliaths across eight episodes this season, by way of newcomers J.K. Simmons and Bruce Dern. The streamer teases Billy will face off against the opioid industry: Simmons stars as George Stax, the leader of a family-owned pharmaceutical company that’s one of the biggest in the country. Dern will portray George’s brother Frank.

Not only does Billy survive but he returns to his Big Law roots despite chronic pain in the wake of his attack by last season’s baddy Diana Blackwood (Amy Brenneman). Patty (Nina Arianda), who is now working at a prestigious white-shoe law firm in San Francisco, can’t shake the feeling she’s being used by Billy.

FX released a teaser for “American Horror Story: Double Feature,” premiering on Aug. 25 at 10 p.m.

The 10th installment of “American Horror Story,” which will be available the next day on FX on Hulu, will begin with “Part 1: Red Tide” and “Part 2: Death Valley.” In the teaser, worlds collide as aliens and sharp-toothed humanoids French kiss.

The series is created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, who executive produce alongside Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray and Manny Coto.

Quibi has released the trailer of “Die Hart.” In the series, Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself who’s tired of being the comedic sidekick. He gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream — to be a leading man action star, but Kevin must first train at the world’s greatest action star school. The series, which was created by Tripper Clancy and Derek Kolstad, is directed by Eric Appel and executive produced by Hart. Jeff Clanagan, Candice Wilson and Bryan Smiley serve as producers. “Die Hart” launches on July 20.

In the crowded field of killer shark movies, 1999’s Deep Blue Sea lands somewhere in the middle. Its tale of genetically modified killer sharks (featuring LL Cool J) is pretty goofy, but it’s no Sharknado. It’s got at least one absolutely awesome moment though involving Samuel L. Jackson. You know the one. Anyhow, it seems the sharks are back for more in Deep Blue Sea 3.

Cards on the table, I had no idea there’d even been a Deep Blue Sea 2, so this threequel is something of a surprise. Apparently, the first sequel went straight-to-video in 2018 and doesn’t directly follow the plot of the 1999 original. Deep Blue Sea 3 will be a proper sequel to that though, building on the last film’s tale of genetically enhanced Bull Sharks that turn on their human masters.
