      In 1988 he was up for a puppeteering job on the Jim Henson Hour, but was unable to properly audition for Jim Henson because the puppet supplied would not fit Dan's arm. While thinking about who to hire, Jim flew to London, where he saw an episode of The Frantics on television, in which Dan puppeteered a character named Marvin the mole. Based on that performance Jim hired Dan.
