Michael Reeves

Suffered from depression and insomnia. His death from an overdose of barbiturates, combined with alcohol, was accidental rather than suicide.
Chosen to direct The Oblong Box (1969) but died during pre-production.
A big fan of director Don Siegel.
After the initial director left the project, Reeves took over directing The Castle of the Living Dead (1964).
He was linked to The Oblong Box (1969) and Scream and Scream Again (1970). Both films would end up being directed by Gordon Hessler.
