Greg Reitman is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, national best selling author & founder of the Blue Water Film Festival. Described by Movie Maker Magazine as "one of the top ten filmmakers producing content that impacts our world." He is the founder of Blue Water Entertainment, Inc., an independent production company focusing on environmentally conscious broad based entertainment.
Greg is the founder of the Blue Water Institute a non-profit committed to the preservation of the planet through the art of storytelling which coincides every year on March 22nd, World Water Day. The mission of the Blue Water Institute is to encourage attendees to think broadly about how climate change affects planet Earth and think deeply about the universal concerns and actions needed to bring us into balance. 50% of all film selections are non-US productions, helping to fulfill the festival mission of promoting cross-cultural understanding through film.
Greg served as an Executive Producer on the feature films, '5 Pounds' Lions Gate/Hulu (2024) starring Luke Evans;"Crypto" starring Kurt Russell, Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, Luke Hemsworth, Lions Gate/Hulu (2019). He also served as Executive Producer on Paul Levatino feature documentary, 'Bastards of Soul.'
Widely regarded as Hollywood's "Green Filmmaker" Greg produced the Sundance Audience Award-winning feature documentary "Fuel" ("A vital, superbly assembled documentary" -- Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times). Fuel played at dozens of film festivals, won numerous awards, short-listed for the Academy Awards, released theatrically, aired on CNBC and streams on Amazon Prime.
Prior to producing Fuel, Greg wrote, produced, and directed the feature documentary "Hollywood's Magical Island - Catalina ("A charming and nostalgic slice of Americana that beautifully recreates a sense of place." - Andrea Hanson, American Public Television). The award-winning documentary was shown at over a dozen film festivals, features exclusive interviews with big band legend Les Brown, oceanographer Jean Michel Cousteau, music surf legend Dick Dale, actors Tony Dow, Gregory Harrison, and Kathleen Quinlan. The film was narrated by Peter Coyote and syndicates nationally on PBS.

Greg Reitman received a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with international studies at Florence University in Florence, Italy; Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan; and Tel-Aviv University in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He is an alum at The Jewish Federation - Tel Aviv University Masters Producers Program as well as UCLA in writing, producing, directing, marketing and distribution. He is an active member of the DGA, SAG-AFTRA, AMA, Explorer's Club, and a fellow adjunct Professor at NYU-Tisch.
