Jon Rekdal born in Norway, born in 1965, son of Cuban documentarian,
Idelfonso Ramos, co-founder of ICAIC (the Cuban film institute) and
Olaug Rekdal, published poet.
Jon made his first short in 1991 and was awarded by the Stockholm International Film Festival 1km film, eagerly awaiting the digital revolution. With the arrival of the DV camera -99 worked cinema directe all around the globe proposing that "reality exceeds imagination". Since -04 working with fiction proposing "imagination foreshadows reality".
In 2010 Werner Herzog saw a trailer to his film "Werewolf" and declaimed "this is cinema!", to a big auditorium. "Werewolf" is the first stereoscopic 3D film made in Sweden.
