Scriptwriter, playwright, journalist, director, producer and lecturer.
Worked extensively in the theatre, setting up DAC in the distinctly
unpromising surroundings of Doncaster, a company that produced, among
others, Stephen Daldrey and gave early opportunities to John Godber,
David Thacker and Michael Boyd. Moved on to television, writing
episodes for leading series such as 'Between the Lines', 'The Bill' and
'Heartbeat' as well as the political serial 'Love and Reason'. Is a
regular contributer to 'Private Eye'. Was the whistle-blower in the
Doncaster local government corruption scandal over which 73 people were
arrested.
