Hilary St George Saunders(1898-1951)

Hilary St George Saunders served with the Welsh Guards during World War
I and later read history at Baliol College, Oxford. He worked with the
League of Nations between 1920 and 1937, and would serve as the
Secretary of the British Ministry in Paris up to the beginning of World
War II. He would subsequently serve as the Librarian of the House of
Commons until he retired in 1950. He was also a novelist, short story
writer, popular historian and biographer; he wrote under a number of
pseudonyms and in collaboration with other writers.
