After graduating from high school, Schreinemakers began studying social sciences, which she completed with a diploma. She then joined WDR television, where she worked as a reporter for the newsroom. Schreinemakers also moderated the "Current Hour" on the same station. Schreinemakers was married to Jürgen von der Lippe from 1986 to 1988. From 1990 to 2007 she was married to the Cologne lawyer Werner Klumpe. The couple separated in 2001. In 1992 she moved to the private broadcaster "SAT.1" to present "Schreinemakers live". With her talk show, which was broadcast regularly until 1996, the TV presenter gained widespread popularity among German television audiences.
In 1997 Schreinemakers joined the rival station "RTL" to work there as a presenter: the new program was called "Schreinemakers TV". Schreinemakers moderated the gala program "A Heart for Children" for ARD. Schreinemakers then hosted the show "Big Diet" for "RTL 2" in 2001. The presenter was awarded the "Bambi" and the "Golden Camera" for her achievements. After a long break from broadcasting, it was announced in July 2003 that Schreinemakers was preparing a new TV show. On January 5, 2004, the popular presenter made her TV comeback with the broadcast of the first issue of her new talk magazine "Schreinemakers" on ARD. In May 2007 Schreinemakers took part in the second season of the RTL show "Let's Dance", but was eliminated in the third episode.
From April 2008 she moderated the program "Schreinemakers 01805-100232" on 9Live within the entertainment and information area "neun TV".
