It's been nearly two years since we last had any news about Mike Le Han's in-the-works feature film debut Merciful but it looks like the project may finally head into production.

Writer/director Mike Le Han has signed on to direct Merciful, a post-apocalyptic thriller written by Brian Scully whose script Counterpoint landed him on the 2012 hit list.
We've been tracking Le Han since he released his short film Mrs. Peppercorn a few years ago. Since then he's floated around a couple of great story concepts including a wicked Hellraiser: Origins pitch video which we hoped would mark the return of that franchise.

Updated: Animated series writers are protesting a decision by the Television Academy to allow NBC’s Community to compete for Emmys in animated categories, arguing that they should be allowed similar cross-genre privileges.
Community made it onto the Emmy nomination ballot in several categories, including best animated program — along with 33 entries from full-time animated shows. The episode, “Digital Estate Planning,” features the cast rendered into 8-bit characters to compete in an old-school-style video game.
