Sam Hazeldine Replaces Joseph Mawle as Adar

Initially played by Joseph Mawle, Adar will be played by Sam Hazeldine in The Rings of Power season 2, instead.

Although Mawle had not explained his departure from the show, he did write, "Best to cast and crew for S2, I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines X."

Sam Hazeldine is best known for playing recurring roles in Peaky Blinders as George Sewell, Rain Dogs as Paul, Slow Horses as Moe, and most recently, in Masters of the Air as Lt. Col. Albert 'Bub' Clark.

Olinka Berova is as sexy as Ursula Andress, but even with a new woman producer Hammer’s She sequel doesn’t give her new She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed much of a chance — the story just sits there and the kingdom of Kuma is woefully under-produced. Good photography and acting help, but one doesn’t earn high marks for the Boys from Bray.

With Christmas 1970 on the horizon, the UK’s thrilling new sci-fi TV show UFO was well underway. Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's first live-action series, it was set in the future and revolved around the activities of the Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation (Shado), a covert agency presided over by Commander Ed Straker (Ed Bishop) to fend off alien attacks on mankind. As a wide-eyed 8-year-old I was hooked and I can recall wishing two things. One was that I could have one of the Dinky Toys’ missile-firing Shado Interceptors, which I thought then (and still think now) was the coolest among the incredible array of vehicles that appeared in the show; I’d not be nearly as forgiving today as I was back then that Dinky had manufactured it in garish green, where the ‘real’ ones on TV were white. Although Hammer Films will always be associated with British horror, the studio did have stiff competition. Amicus specialised in the successful horror anthologies and Us counterparts American International Pictures established a permanent UK base in the mid sixties. Other smaller independents took their own bite from the cherry tree of horror with some success, the best known being Tigon Films.

Tigon has received some belated recognition in recent years. Andy Boot’s book on British horror Fragments of Fear devotes a chapter to the company while John Hamilton’s excellent book Beast in the Cellar covers the varied career of Tigon’s charismatic founder Tony Tenser.

While Hollywood tries to remake his vampire horror movie “Let the Right One In” with those guys from “Cloverfield”, Swedish director Tomas Alfredson has already moved on to his next project: adapting the John Le Carre spy novel “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” for Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The original novel was set in the aftermath of the cold war, and tells the tale of a spy-hunt within the highest echelons of the British Secret Intelligence Service. THR says Peter Morgan (”Frost/Nixon,” “The Queen”) will do the actual adapting, while Alfredson will get ready to direct the film sometime next year.
