Biography

Georgiy Shakhet is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. After seventh grade, Georgiy went to evening school to work and help his family. At first he worked part-time at a circus school, then became a lighting designer, and worked at VGIK and Mosfilm. His father was a fairly famous artist, but he died early, at the age of 45. They had a theater family, and always organized concerts, acted out miniatures, and went to performances with his mother. Therefore, after evening school, Shakhet tried to enter the Moscow Art Theater and all the theater schools, but for two years in a row they did not accept him.

In 1974 he graduated from the Higher Theater School named after Boris Shchukin. After graduation, he worked in Moscow and regional theaters.

Since 1974 he began acting in films. Played roles in the films Khozhdenie po mukam (1977), Begstvo mistera Mak-Kinli (1975), 20-e dekabrya (1982), Capablanca (1987), Nikolay Vavilov (1990).
