- A fitness enthusiast, Shaw commutes around her home base in London on her bicycle.
- Throughout the Harry Potter movie series, Shaw played "Petunia Dursley", Harry Potter's aunt, who had a strong aversion to any mention of or person connected to witchcraft or wizardry.
