While Bollywood films are often not welcomed with open arms in the neighbouring country of Pakistan, yet another film that faces the wrath is Happy Bhag Jayegi. This cross border story faced a ban in the country despite the fact that it stars popular Pakistani actors Javed Sheikh and Momal Sheikh. From what we hear, the Pakistani censor board raised a few objections over the portrayal of their renowned leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah and also that of Piyush Mishra as a policeman. Aanand L. Rai who expressed disappointment over the decision also added that though the board loved the film initially, later he was informed that the Ministry objected to the content in the film. He also clarified that this decision of a ban has nothing to do with the common man. What further upset the producer was that while the board did not ask them for any cuts they...

It is easier to point out the faults in this remarkable film than to enumerate reasons why I found the experience irresistible.
Among the faults, the film, like its hero Ved, fails to separate reality from fantasy. Imtiaz Ali moves in an out of both the mutually inclusive worlds with exasperating self-confidence, certain in his faith in the power of the imagination. In fact the film opens with a lengthy staged skit where a female clown (speaking in Deepika’s unmistakable voice) challenges the robotic alien played by Ranbir.
But how can the clown be Deepika since at that point of time in the free-flowing narrative the two haven’t met….or have they?
Imtiaz then flashbacks to Ved’s childhood. And a wise little boy spends his father’s money listening to the storyteller (Piyush Mishra) spin yarns about lovers, losers and strugglers. Later, much later the storyteller returns...

'Namastey London' (2007)
Starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Rishi Kapoor, Upen Patel, Javed Sheikh, Clive Standen
Their first film together—'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye' (2006)—was a disappointment, but Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif sparkled in 'Namastey London'—her first major hit and his first of four hits in 2007, including another with Kaif later that year, 'Welcome.' They co-starred in the blockbuster 'Singh is Kinng' the following year. But 'Namastey London' remains their best outing together—and one of Kaif's best films.
In only her fifth Hindi movie, Kaif's still a little green, but her promise starts to show here. She plays Jasmeet, who goes by the nickname "Jazz," a London-born girl with India-born parents. With her mother's encouragement and to her father's dismay, she's thoroughly British—in the way she thinks, dresses, and socializes. The role was likely not a stretch for Kaif, who...

A strike to work is called by the prominent Leaders played by Om Puri and Pavan Mallhotra, of his community to protest against the unjust treatment meted out to those arrested youths by the police.
