Walter (George Payne) and Marsha (Michelle Maren) are the classic American married couple. Walter has a good job and Marsha is your perfect housewife. The pair believe in monogamy. I say that, but the couple have a sort of sexual awakening. One day, Walter has a bit of fun with a local hooker (Sharon Mitchell) and whilst he’s at it – Marsha finds herself seduced by Joe (Eric Edwards) – their Meter man. As this is going on, their friends Andy (Joey Silvera) and his wife Louise (Sharon Kane) are the complete opposite. The couple are both openly promiscuous and have their own fun when they can. One night – after some drinks in Andy and Louise’s apartment – the two couples decide to sit...

Writer and creator Shonda Rhimes looks back at career; maverick showrunner Adi Hasak; Mipcom posts record attendance.
If content is king in an age of proliferating platforms and windows, local content reigns supreme for home-grown platforms competing with international players.
This was the message of top programming and acquisitions executives speaking on a Mipcom panel on global TV trends on Wednesday (October 19).
Mike Sneesby, CEO of Australian Svod company Stan, said original local content such as the comedy show No Activity and its psychological thriller series Wolf Creek - a spin-off the hit genre film franchise starring John Jarrett as serial killer Mike Taylor - had been at the heart of its strategy to win over local audiences.
“Initially we focused on big network and studio shows, securing a deal with the likes of Showtime, and then moved very quickly into original shows, boarding our first original show just six weeks after launching,” said Sneesby...

For Monica Nolasco, 22, Thursday's morning commute aboard the NJ Transit train was going smoothly until her train pulled into the last stop: Hoboken. "I was standing up and taking something out of the overhead, and the train just jerked forward," she tells People. Nolasco, who always sits in the last car of train, was next to the conductor, who tried helping people keep their balance as the train teetered back and forth for less than a minute. Hugh (John Leslie, Dracula Sucks) is about to marry Lily (Flower, Sheila’s Payoff) and he wants his bubbly daughter Peaches (Desireé Cousteau, Hot Rackets) from his first marriage, to be a part of the festivities. Thankfully the stepdaughter-stepmother relationship starts off well with the trio hitting up the nearest slot machines. Unfortunately, Peaches comes to the realisation that she now has to potentially compete for her father’s love and attention. After sinking down a few shots she does the sensible thing and jumps in her jeep to let off some steam. Whilst on her little bender, Peaches is involved in an accident and subsequently left unconscious. Our film gets off to a great start with the titular Jeanne Silver (Waterpower) letting us know that she is handicapped and horny, as well as boasting about having a bigger member than the legendary John Holmes. After such an introduction, we’re thrown right in to action with Jeanne enjoying a light hearted threesome with her friends Joey (Joey Silvera, Expectations) and Amber (Amber Hunt, Cry For Cindy). During this little frolic, we see Jeanne’s handicap for the first time. Of course, she utilises it! After that, Jeanne tells us about the almost unlimited sexual opportunities high school has to offer (I obviously went to the wrong school!) and shares her exploits with a boy from her art class who just so happens to be gay. He may not be in to girls,...

1. William Parker: For Those Who Are, Still (Aum Fidelity/Centering)
I have been an admirer and observer of William Parker for a quarter century, but nothing prepared me for the impact of this three-disc set's final CD, which features an orchestral composition, Ceremonies for Those Who Are Still, which ranks high among the best orchestral music of the 21st century, and I'm including classical composers. In other words, don't cringe while imagining the usual jazz-with-strings hack job. There are moments in Ceremonies for Those Who Are Still -- particularly when the choir is singing Parker's poems of life and loss and creation -- when the grandeur of the year's most fashionable jazz album, Kamasi Washington's The Epic (also a three-cd set) comes to mind, but the difference -- the reason Parker's set ranks much higher -- is that his orchestrations are vastly more contrapuntal, colorful, individual, and just plain daring.

(1981, dir: Carlos Tobalina)
“Beyond Temptation…”
Joyce (Sheila Parks, Casanova II) and Jerry (Jesse Adams, Deep Rub) are newlyweds who, after some mind numbingly awkward conversation, make love for the first time. After breaking in the cheap motel bed (how romantic!), the pair talk about Jerry’s brother Steve (Joey Silvera, Carnal Haven), who apparently had problems with his parents when he announced that he was marrying a girl with a reputation by the name of Wendy (Karo Akamoto – in her only role). We also find out that he is set to be released from prison for accidentally killing (or so he thought, just watch, it makes sense) the lover of his cheating wife. Once released, the brothers are reunited and introduced to their new sisters-in-law. Whilst on a trip to what looks like the coldest beach ever, Joyce and Steve begin to have forbidden thoughts for each other. Actually,...

Apparently denying that you’re an Edm artist is all the rage among Edm artists nowadays, and leave it to Afrojack to jump on that bandwagon like his life depends on it. The “Ten Feet Tall” producer has gone to great lengths to convince the world that he’s a pop artist and not just another electronic music DJ, but his new track, “SummerThing!” falls short of breaking free from the formula.
A preview of “SummerThing!” uploaded to Afrojack’s SoundCloud showcases the first verse, chorus and drop – and you’ll notice that I said “drop,” because it’s definitely that and not the bridge that you’d hear in a pop song. It clashes significantly with Mike Taylor’s sing-songy lyrics, driving the point home that sometimes an artist just needs to be comfortable with who they are and not stretch out their creative process too much if they...

As a project like Zomboobies languishes in a level of post-production Hell filmmaker Mike Taylor continues to ply his trade on many Hollywood productions. Yet his heart still burns to make "Off-Beat, VFX, Horror, Gore, Comedy and Heart filled Movies" as per his webpage PretendForReal.com. Taylor let us know that he created a trailer, an homage if you will, to the Troma Films character Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. He has titled it Sgt. Kabukiman L.A.P.D. "Sing, Dance, Kill". It is a quick dose of lo-fi goodness and really fun gore. Taylor also provided a collection of stills and art for your perusal as well. The Raid meets Black Swan in this gritty, elegantly ultra-violent and magical re-imagining of Troma Films classic comedic super hero "Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D." Independently...

“Sharon has the ‘Gypsy Grip’… But John knows the ‘Inka Knot’”
Not every couple has amazing sex. Thankfully, for those couples out there who suffer, you are not alone! You see, we have four couple who each have their own problems and hang ups. Firstly, we have Leslie and Richard, played by Leslie Bovee (Maraschino Cherry) and John Leslie (Dracula Sucks). When Richard isn’t fantasising about other women, Leslie is downing her sorrows with good old J&B. Their marriage is the same way Leslie probably takes her whiskey, on the rocks. Of course, their last ditch attempt at saving their marriage is to visit the sex clinic of Dr. Klein and Dr. Wasserman, played by Sharon Thorpe (Sexworld, Femmes de Sade) and Ken Scudder (Pretty Peaches, Tropic of Desire). Leslie and Richard aren’t the only ones attending however! We also have Pat and her pimp husband,...

Kathy is studying journalism at college and applies for the job as a hotel receptionist so she can write about the human condition. Luckily for her, this is one seedy establishment with a whole host of deviants looking for a place to get down and dirty. It all starts off innocent enough with Jade Wong (Prisoner of Paradise, Oriental Madam) and Albert Bernard (in his only role) as a young couple wanting to make love for the first time. It gets a tad humorous when a travelling salesman with a passion for movie trivia played by Michael Morrison (Meatballs II, Taboo) takes a prostitute up to his room for some relaxing. Potty-mouthed R-rated comedies are back, back, back bitches, so it's no major to surprise to see Sony greenlighting a sequel to its high-school hit Bad Teacher. Deadline reports that screenwriter Justin Malen, whose Black List script Bastards was been picked up by Paramount in 2011, is the man crafting the next slab of classroom carnage.Bad Teacher, a relatively low-budget affair, grossed more than $200m worldwide. With Hollywood still looking to tap into Bridesmaids demographic, only the class duffer could miss the potential for a reprise.Original star Cameron Diaz deferred most of her fee for the first film in favour of a chunk of the back end, a decision that worked out kinda nicely. Interestingly, the studio hasn't waited for her to commit before giving the go-ahead for this sequel. There's clearly great confidence in Culver City that the formula - gold digger with a casual drug habit and a...

Actress and activist Ashley Judd announced Wednesday she would not challenge Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2014.
Judd tweeted the news on Wednesday:

Sources told The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza "the timing just wasn't right" for a Judd Senate run.
McConnell had appeared wary of a challenge from Judd, and early rounds of polling gauging the matchup -- including one from his campaign -- suggested that she could have provided a viable challenge.
With Judd out of the race, eyes will likely shift to Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes. Politico reported in March that high-profile Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton,...

EA has just released this multiplayer video from sessions captured during Gamescom. In the video, producer Mike Reed reveals that the 2013 shooter will support 12-players on console and 16 on the PC, and he also shows off a handful of the new modes.
In Hunter Mode, two cloaked and bow-armed players will start out taking on 14 kill troopers, obliterating the other team and converting them to Hunters, until the last kill trooper is taken out. It sounds a lot like your typical Infection mode with a higher player count.
Crash Site is back, and in this capture and hold mode, each team will locate and attempt to control a drop pod for a limited period of time in order to earn more points than the opposing team.
Both modes will support EA's Autolog for Crysis, New York Feed, which will dynamically display a map of your friends' actions in-game and generate custom challenges.

The second season of the AMC drama series Hell On Wheels takes us back to the post-Civil War era at the dawn of the industrial era. Railroad barons were obsessed with nation-building and the race across the continent in order to secure the future of the United States as a country worthy of competing in the global market. No longer hindered by in-fighting after surviving a bloody civil war that nearly tore the nation apart, it was a time of blossoming freedom and unfettered greed. Yet with the wounds fresh on their bodies and hearts from the recent bloodshed, it was also a time of healing. Everyone wanted to forget the war and move on, but it was a burden everyone bore upon their souls.
So began the tale in the first season of Hell On Wheels, where we met our hero, Cullen Bohannon, a Confederate soldier who returned from...

Aurora, Colo. — A sports blogger who recently wrote about surviving a shooting in Canada. A man preparing to celebrate his first wedding anniversary. A young woman whose death announcement brought heartbreak, yet closure, to her family.
They were among the 12 people killed when a gunman barged into a crowded Colorado theater, set off gas canisters and opened fire as spectators dove for cover. Dozens of others were injured, including 11 in critical condition.
For Alex Sullivan, it was to be a weekend of fun: He planned to ring in his 27th birthday with friends at a special midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" and then celebrate his first wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Late Friday, Sullivan's family confirmed that police told them he was among those killed.
"He was a very, very good young man," said Sullivan's uncle, Joe Loewenguth. "He always had a smile, always made you laugh. He had...

Looks like Dark Knight Rises fans aren't the only ones having trouble taking criticism these days. Rapper Mc Chris picked Tuesday night's concert in Philadelphia as the right time and place to call out a fan for daring to tweet something negative about one of the Adult Swim fave's opening acts. (That's right, Chris freaked out over a tweet that wasn't even about him.) But since Chris heard what the Twitterverse had to say about him kicking a guy named Mike Taylor out of his show, it appears that the 36-year-old artist has turned over a new leaf when it comes to dealing with people's right to free speech. He started with a YouTube apology to Taylor, in which he broke down around the...

After catching holy, web-based hell for kicking a fan out of one of his shows over a nasty tweet, Mc Chris is repenting. The nerdcore rapper posted a teary apology video after having his ass handed to him by online fans over his actions Tuesday in Philadelphia, where Mc Chris stopped the show to call out a fan, Mike Taylor, for tweeting that the opener, Richie Branson, wasn’t “good enough to pander to” him. After identifying himself in the crowd as the tweeter, Taylor was escorted out of the building by security as Mc Chris yelled, “That’s what ...

All aboard! AMC’s Hell On Wheels is gearing up for a second season, and TVLine has your exclusive glimpse at some photos from upcoming episodes.
We’ll warn you right now: No one in the pictures appears to be having much fun, but can you blame them? The dark Western drama follows vengeance-seeking former Confederate soldier Cullen (played by Anson Mount) as he travels west on a crew building the first transcontinental railroad. The residents of the mobile town that follows the construction – known as “Hell On Wheels” – are prostitutes, mercenaries, company men and other unsavory characters.

Did that really just happen? Did the Reverend really cut off that Union soldier's head?
I had a feeling something bad was gonna go down, especially with the Reverend acting like he's been taking a massive dose of crazy pills recently.
Not only does he seem to let his white hair grow out, he doesn't really get dressed anymore, and he stumbles around with a creepy grin on his face. The Revered is clearly off his rocker and I love it.
Tom Noonan is giving a fantastic performance as Reverend Cole and even though I still think the change in character was sharply drastic and immediate, it's turned into something oddly compelling. Who would have thought that a man of God would turn into an extreme danger and problem?
It looks as if the outside danger of the Cheyenne is shifting back toward the in-the-camp danger. Once again, I'm surprised...

What's the best way to distract men from not getting paid? Free alcohol and a boxing match, of course.
Thomas Durant was up to his old manipulative tricks again on "Bread and Circuses," drawing away from money problems and focusing on the more enticing fight between Cullen Bohannon and Elam Ferguson. It's a surprise that not many people can see through his methods, but it makes sense that live entertainment manages to divert attention when each day consists of extremely muddy and tiresome work.
Perhaps that's why Lily Bell can go toe-to-toe with Durant. She gets to wear pretty dresses, goes on picnics and spend time forming her own ways to play her smart cards. And boy, did she play them.
It may have been a brash move to tell Durant that she had the maps the whole time, but it was worth it just to see his frustrated face.

The more Hell on Wheels continues on, the more it reveals that it is a show without a primary purpose. On the one hand, it’s a revenge tale, on the other, it’s a story about progress and the struggles that come with it. There’s plenty of other themes you could argue are the main focus of the show as well – greed, corruption, loss, faith, genocide – the list goes on and on. Every character here has their ideal to push, often in the most transparent, unsubtle way possible, resulting in a show with a lot of messages and a lot of ideas but very little time to explore any of them. In more capable hands, a lot of these themes would be chock full of narrative possibility, but because the show never spends enough time with any one character before moving on to another,...

If you happen to have any connection to the murder of Cullen Bohannon's wife, you're going to get a bullet to the body. No excuses. No free rides. Only death.
I love that Bohannon has a one track mind. It's all about revenge (he and Emily VanCamp have something in common) and he never looked so good doing it. Maybe it's the variety of camera angles or maybe it's the fierce gaze of no redemption, but Bohannon shooting a gun brings out that classic western feel of coolness and a cold attitude you can't help but enjoy.
Yet, even as his focus remains on finding Sergeant Frank Harper, Bohannon is still able to reveal acts of humanity and consideration to those around him. Letting Ferguson attempt to prove himself by taking over the white men's work, rescuing Lily Bell and protecting her, and even preventing Joseph Black Moon from becoming...

Hell on Wheels, Season 1, Episode 2: “Immoral Mathematics”
Written by Tony and Joe Gayton
Directed by David Von Ancken
Airs Sundays at 10pm Et on AMC
After a lackluster pilot episode which, like many pilots, was used mainly as a broad set up for the entirety of the season, episode two of Hell on Wheels, “Immoral Mathematics,” starts to dig a little beneath the surface.
The show still has various flaws one would hope it can overcome. For instance, many of the characters are rather cliché and even stereotypical at times, but, the show has admirable energy and enthusiasm that keeps it (pardon my pun) chugging along.
“Immoral Mathematics” picks up on the following day when the pilot ended. The Foreman has been found murdered, and our star, Cullen Bohannan (Anson Mount) is the prime suspect. The chief of security for the camp, known as The Swede (Christopher Heyerdahl) plans...

Last week's Hell on Wheels premiere, which garnered AMC's second biggest debut with 4.4 million viewers, set up numerous storylines and characters, from Cullen Bohannon's thirst for revenge... to Durant's greedy entrepreneurial endeavors... to Lily Bell's escape from the Cheyenne... to Ferguson's realization that not much has changed since the Emancipation Proclamation.
It was a lot to take in and at times moved relatively slow.
And as much as you can toss out the Deadwood comparisons and complain of the cliches, Hell On Wheels definitely looks to be taking on the ambitious task of telling a large story that takes on the gritty and grimy melting pot centered around the construction of the transcontinental railroad.
Thankfully, "Immoral Mathematics" managed to focus itself on one central storyline and scatter a few smaller ones throughout. It chugged along at a much quicker pace and kept me interested for pretty much the entire episode.

Charlie Sheen could be set to bank $7million from his upcoming tour. The troubled actor, who recently announced plans to expand his "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option" tour to 21 dates around the Us, will reportedly cash in on the tell-all live shows.
According to gossip website TMZ, the former "Two and a Half Men" star, who is currently residing alongside his two live-in "goddesses", porn star Bree Olsen and part-time model Natalie Kenly, will pocket millions from the tour, as well as paid after-party appearances and merchandising revenue.
Charlie's show will mostly be performed from memory in a style akin to "Muhammed Ali in his prime", with his "goddesses" also potentially set to make an appearance. Joey Scott, the 45-year-old actor's co-producer, told E! Online, "It will be like Muhammed Ali in his prime. He will do most of it from memory, he's that talented."

AMC has greenlit a full season of the TV series Hell on Wheels, which was written and created by Joe and Tony Gayton. This is the same station that gave us Mad Men and The Walking Dead.
The series tells the epic story of post-Civil War America, focusing on a Confederate soldier who sets out to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who have killed his wife. His journey takes him west to Hell on Wheels, a dangerous, raucous, lawless melting pot of a town that travels with and services the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, an engineering feat unprecedented for its time. The series examines the railroad's institutionalized greed and corruption, the immigrant experience, and the plight of the newly emancipated African-Americans during reconstruction. Over time, Hell on Wheels chronicles this potent turning point in our nation's history, and how uncivilized the business of civilization can be.

First, let me say, this movie came to my attention via one of the nicest publicists I've ever met, Kelly Kitchens. With all of the press contacts I've dealt with I've never had someone send me an email just to say hi. Either way it's a good thing, so when she asked me to take a look at Between Heaven and Hell, I couldn't say no. However, that doesn't mean I'm biased towards it. I choose to review everything I get with the same critical eye.
The Basics
Between Heaven and Hell is an indie film produced locally in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and took the better part of 2 years to complete (all during spare time on the weekends). The story came from Marvin Faulkner who wrote the piece in order to cope with his wife's passing away. It was shot on a very shoestring budget by people who (admittedly) are filmmaking novices.
